I would be writing a very stern letter of complaint to the head office if it happened to me.
That's what I thought. I was really embarrassed...she asked how many a day I take and how many at a time, even though it's detailed by the GP on the prescription. Even the young girls who work part time in the pharmacy stopped what they were doing and listened avidly.
They all know, of course, that I'm disabled but probably not how it all happened to me in the first place...well, they do now, along with a good few neighbours.
I do feel like complaining but don't want to cause trouble for the pharmacist.0 -

If no one complains then she will carry on thinking that it's alright to humiliate customers and breach confidentiality.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Practice it for next time, or at least make a complaint.
Sorry Sambucus! Too polite for my own good sometimes I think!
You're right though. I should do something about complaining...the next person she does that to might have something totally embarrassing that they'd hate people knowing about.
As it is I just know for a fact that one neighbour who was in there will be gossipping for England about my painkillers to anyone who will listen.
Not that there's anything wrong with needing them but some things you just want to keep private, don't you?0 -
Today I had the receptionist at the surgery telling me that she had booked my appointment with the doctor concerning my colonoscopy. She said this quite loudly across the waiting room. However, I was not at all embarrassed since after having a number of cameras up my !!!! I have lost my coyness on medical matters and often discuss them with all sorts of disinterested people. It's not my fault your honour, they made me do it.0

So its not just me that has problems with Lloyds Chemists then
. There are three near me, with a Boots in the town centre. The Lloyds opposite my dentists I now refuse to use, they've breached my patient confidentiality so many times, and called me a liar in front of a shop full of people. They refused to sell me a large tube of analgesic gel, because it was prescription only, and when I pointed out to them that I could buy and had bought the bigger size in Boots, so would they mind checking, the pharmacist started having a rant at me, calling me a liar, no-one could have ever sold me the bigger size! So I went to Boots, and bought the bigger size:).
Please complain to Head Office about this pharmacist, they shouldn't be able to treat people like this.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

That's your choice though and very different from your confidentiality being broken.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

Amazing how that happens, isn't? I think I lost my coyness after the second one, when I hadn't been sedated and had a good view of my insides;). Hope all goes well for you.
The receptionist at my last surgery thought she had had the same training as my GP,and questioned why I need hayfever medication (antihistamines) in the middle of winter. You should have seen her face when I put her straight in front of a very full waiting room. I got a few thumbs up as I walked out, she wasn't well liked:).Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

My DD now gets me to pick up her contraception prescription, because the 2 pharmacists that work in our local pharmacy are both male, young, goodlooking and announced a little too loudly in front of a packed pharmacy "MISS A*****, heres your prescription, now remember with contraceptives you must get a new prescription from the dr. every 3 mos, in order that he may take your blood preassure etc.". Wellmeaning but a little too public for her liking. No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0
