Ignore the scam and read the sticky threads by Crabman:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

You want to read 'PPC letters, what to expect' and 'welcome, please read before posting'. Once you have seen the info linked there, including the Watchdog clip, you will know where you stand.

You MUST show the owner of the car what you find when reading those threads. They will be receiving scary letters so you MUST make sure they know it's a scam and that, as the registered keeper, they are not liable.

Do not reply, do not 'appeal'(as if!) and do not pay! And do not let the registered keeper panic and pay this con.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Ignore these clowns.

They'll no doubt send you a series of letters (Loo Paper), And of course some 'Fake' Solicitors or Debt Collection Companies requesting money.

    Just ignore them.

Are you and the registered keeper both clear now that this is a scam and you MUST NOT PAY OR REPLY?

Read those sticky (near top of forum) info threads I mentioned and show them to the keeper, as well as other family members. Get them to watch the Watchdog video and check out which debt collector scamograms will be sent. They need to be ready for the mail scam.
