I'm making up a dilute spray bottle and considering adding a little zoflora to the mix as others sometimes do - we're about to do a mammoth clean as we're moving... is there one of the zoflora scents which is less in your face than others? Just not the biggest fan of overwhelming scents.

If there was a citrussy scent, I'd be delighted... In fact I did consider adding a touch of lemon juice to the SD instead of zoflora... hmm.
    On the up :D

  • Yeah they do a citrus one, but the Fresh Linen one is lovely too, clean smelling but not flowery. hth:)

I keep seeing people mentioning dilute or neat - please could someone let me know how dilute, ie what concentration to use? And is it diluted with water or with white vinegar? Thanks.

with water, it gives suggestions for each use on the back.

i didn't know there were scents designed to use with it, i always just added a drop of essential oil or fragrance oil.

i only have half a bottle left but haven't seen it around for ages

  • Thanks for this thread, I can't wait to try the tips! They are selling Stardrops on Approved Foods at the moment for 99p. Hurry, it's selling fast!

    Stardrops All Round Cleaner 750ml

    Stardrops Pine Scented Disinfectant 750ml

    Stardrops Power Cleaner 750ml
  • Just to let you know it is still being sold around here. I bought the original for around 80p in home bargains, the pine scented disinfectant version for the same and then today I saw Pre-mixed spray bottles one with and one without bleach for under £1 for 750ml too which is good as I don't have many spare spray bottles so I will use them first then top up.
All from Home Bargains in the south east. They also had the white bottle with ammonia too for around the 80p mark but not the pink one.
I tried a 1/3 star drops original to 2/3 water combi on my stainless steel sink which came up shiny but the hint of lime scale which has been impossible to shift since i moved in remained. (hard water area) the sink and tap stayed shiny even when dry which with the awful hardwater here is unusual, normally watermarks remain.
The hob came up good but when I removed the gas rings and saw the dirt under them, I tried it on them and it shifted about 75% of the dirt. I then tried it neat but that made no difference, so I may try the pre-mixed stardrops bleach spray and see if that works, or even add vinegar to my homemade 1/3 star drops 2/3 water mix spray and see what that does, from what I can gather it is trial and error for people, I'm just hoping I don't have too many errors :) thanks everyone for the tips. I've read every page!!!
For people looking for the star drops, they weren't together on the shelf at all, all five products were separate and all on top or bottom shelves, none at normal 'eye level'.

Just bought my first bottle of Stardrops and a spray bottle! It was £1.20 in Wilkos, couldn't get it from Sainsburys.

Going to tackle the bathroom to give it a test run....
  • Frith, our village hardware/everything else shop sells original Stardrops, plus various `speciality` ones and the ready diluted in spray bottle and they are all just £1. MARVELLOUS stuff!

Our shop is a bit diddy!

Tried it 1/4 Stardrops in water. Bath, sink and loo came up fine. I also bought some vinegar this morning so the window and mirror in the bathroom are looking better.

Best results I found were on the kitchen sink (metal), the cooker top (ancient white enamel) and on the steel kettle!

Trouble is I meant to wash the walking boots in the sink before cleaning and forgot.... Can't bear to get the sink dirty again now!
  • Just to let people know - Asda have it on rollback to £1.39
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j
