I'm not going to go into all the details of the parking ticket.
Suffice to say that it was received in January 2011, and we have no intention of paying (I've read numerous posts on here and on Pepipoo and fully understand that there is no need to correspond, let alone pay. Hence we have not, and do not, intend to enter any correspondence with NCP or Newlyn).
We own the car, but were not driving it. End of story.
What I want to raise, is the issue about what lengths NCP/Newlyn go to to harass people.
Having read the various posts and forums I was fully expecting us to receive 3 or 4 letters and perhaps one or two calls. I've not seen more than a few letters in the letter-chain pics. But it has in fact been a lot more than this! Some 8 months later and they are still pestering us - we have received 12 letters and maybe half a dozen calls over this period.
Our resolve not to correspond has not changed at all, but it IS annoying - despite all that we do is to file the letter in the 'ignore pile'.
At what point do they final get the message that we will not be replying, let alone paying anything......?
During my telephone calls, I have typically stated that any and all correspondence should be made by post. At my latest call, I took name and telephone number of the caller and stressed that if we received any more calls I would sue them for harassment!
Perhaps I should post all the letters up on this site?
If I knew how.....
Letter chain has been:
I don't really care how many times they write to us, but my wife IS getting annoyed. I can fully appreciate other less-knowledgeable people sucumbing to the barrage and paying up.
What's the record for number of letters received by anyone?
Am I the winner so far with 12?
I guess I'm making this post as a heads-up to any new people who have just received a ticket from NCP/Newlyn. They should be fully prepared for the barrage of letters and calls they may receive.
However, I continue to support and FULLY stress.....IGNORE ALL LETTERS. Do NOT make ANY correspondence with them. Neither accept, nor deny anything. They have no legal right to demand money of you. These letters are just 'requests' to pay up.

I think we have seen 10 or 12 letters before but it's surely harassment. Maybe check what you have there, against all Newlyn entries against various PPCs, as shown in the top thread 'PPC letters, what to expect':
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
People sometimes also get phone calls and texts, even more harassment!
To stop them, if they phone just say 'the alleged debt is DENIED. Pass the file back to the originator or I will report Newlyn to the OfT and Trading Standards, also I am considering a case of harassment against your firm. Goodbye.' PHONE DOWN, NO DISCUSSION.
If they just keep writing, just keep ignoring. They are wasting postage and the paper is useful as pet bedding I suppose...:DPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Good old Newlyn, are they not the ones being considered for striking off due to harassment?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Where do I read about them being considered for striking off?
Would be an interesting topic for conversation the next time they call :-)There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't!0 -

I received a total of 18 over a 12 month period, the last one being about 3 years ago, and am still waiting for my world to cave in.
In my case Newlyn were acting as the 'provisional-arm' of Civil Enforcement Ltd.
As far as I am aware, Newlyn have never done 'court' over a private parking issue on behalf of any PPC.0 -

That's Roxbourghe, "Minded to revoke" but Newlyn should be in there too!0 -
Thanks for correcting me, there seems to be very little in it. http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=59987&mode=threadedI'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Many of these letters are duplicates. Two or three times.
I just wonder why they don't get the message that they won't get any reply.
I suppose I could understand the logic of sending 2 or three, spaced out over a month or two. Just in case someone was away, or tried ignoring one or two. But surely they must reaslise that if someone ignores 12 letters, they aren't likely to get frightened and reply to the 13th.
Oops......I've fallen in to the depths of 'thinking logically'....
Shame on me.......There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't!0 -
Hi,
This morning I received my first letter from Newlyn....
TOTAL OUTSTANDING £117.00
DO NOT IGNORE THIS LETTER
Parking Charge Details - Vinci Park Services UK Ltd
Total Outstanding: £117.00
Dear Sir/Madam
We have been instructed by Vinci Park Services UK Ltd to recover the outstanding Civil Parking Notice, which remains unpaid,
Do not ignore this letter. Further cation may be taken at considerable cost to you if the debt is not cleared.
The ticket was received at a train station, however there was nothing about bylaw on the ticket or any of the letters I've received from NCP.
Its my mum's car but I drove it (we don't have the car anymore). As it's in her name she's obviously pancking! I've told her to ignore the letters but she's convinced she's going to be taken to court...
Can someone confirm that we can just carry on ignoring these letters?
Also, are Vinci Park Services UK Ltd and NCP the same thing?? Bit confused as there's no mention of NCP on this letter from Newlyn!
Thanks! :-)Vanquis [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE]£2250 // Cap1 [STRIKE]£500[/STRIKE]£480 // Natwest [STRIKE]£350[/STRIKE]£330 // Mum [STRIKE]£1200[/STRIKE]/1200
Santander OD [STRIKE]£1200[/STRIKE]£0 // RBS OD [STRIKE]£1800[/STRIKE]£1725 // Natwest OD [STRIKE]£1870[/STRIKE]/1870
Xmas/Bdays Savings: £65 :xmassmile0 -
No Vinci and NCP are different companies. However you can ignore both. Newlyn make all sort of threats but in fact can do nothing. Just ignore them.0
