Vanquis Cash Withdrawal limit

Hello everyone,

I want to buy a car in 2 days - problem is is that i am £900 short. I have a Vanquis credit card with a £1250 limit, in which i cleard the balance 3 weeks ago so i have £1250 available.

What i need know is if there is any way that Vanquis would allow me to withdraw the full £900 from an ATM/Bank? My daily withdrawal limit is 20% (£250) charged at £3 per time. I want to do this to avoid these fees, and because i am going to view the car in 2 days.

Thanks,

P.S entire balance will be paid off in 3 weeks on payday, but the car will be gone by then.

You need your bumps felt mate, you really do. :wall:

Buy another car when you're paid, it's a buyers market for cars.

no, i really dont pal. Maybe you need to bump your head as you seem to spend your time making needless sarcastic remarks to a completely valid question. My company is getting rid of a 2008 company car as the replacement is due. However, before they sell back to the dealership at £8500, they have advertised internally to our workforce at a sell price of £5000. This is a bargain worth having and in 3 weeks it will not be there. End of. I know my own finances and manage them well - just would like an answer to my question please.

The answer to what I think is an entirely sensible question is: Phone up Vanquis and they can initiate a bank transfer of the entire amount directly to your bank account.

Isn't it also a shame these forums are populated with idiots giving stupid advice to questions you didn't ask?!

Just take the ~£12 hit for withdrawing the cash.
  • Vanquis love to give cash so just phone them up and they will be happy to transfer the money to your bank account but just remember you will pay a bit of interest due to the cash advance.
I'm not poor i'm just skint

Yes, you clearly manage them well. Hence owning a Vanquis credit card and your need to get a cash advance from it.

And I take you know you'll be charged interest DAILY for cash advance fees and not just the £12? Of course you do. And the APR for cash advance from Vanquis is what?

Anyway, I'll stay out of your way, good luck with the acr and see you on the DFW board in a couple of months.

LOL thanks a lot for your answers. Yes i will try this then. I was confused as i have had conflicting info before saying that Vanquis do not allow balance transfers... but im guessing then that this would not technically be 'balance transfer', but rather a cash transaction i take it...

And yes i totally agree. People must have very sad lives if they feel the need to come online onto these forums and give stupid judgemental opinions, without actually helping.

I understand that i will take a hit with the interest charges etc, however the full balance will be cleared in 3 weeks, so i think it is worth it to be able to get a 2008 BMW for £5000. Also FYI, i am 22 and the only reason i have the Vanquis card is because i had no form of credit. I have never missed any payments what so ever with anything and i am in no debt. I have saved just over £4000 myself which is pretty good for a 22 year old. I dont think i sound like somebody in financial problems. get off this board, nobody wants you here

    I rest my case. :rotfl:

£12 for getting your hands on the money is nothing compared to the interest you'll pay Vanquis... even if it's only for three weeks. But I think Vanquis put a limit on how much cash you can withdraw using your card. 40% of limit?

Anyway, could you part-pay for the car using your Vanquis card? If not, perhaps you could use the card to fund a PayPal account and use that.

hi, thanks for this. The limit is actually 20%. You must understand that if i knew all of the ins and outs of this kind of thing then i wouldnt be asking questions on here so i appreciate peoples input and warnings, just not when they come across as insults. SnowTiger do you know how i go about calculating what kind of interest wud be charged?
