The SNP and its ilk like moan a lot, like to suggest Scotland would be better off without the rest of us, so I say good luck to them, See ya, and as they obviously hate the rest of the UK so much I assume they will stay North or the border and leave the rest of us to it...
Military - We have already our own defence capabilities but who needs then, everyone loves the Scots
Currency - Looking at the notes I have in my wallet, we already have a currency issued by the Bank of Scotland.
Diplomacy - Can you put a value on this diplomatic cost? Scotland are an extremely diplomatic society. I'm sure we can handle issues. Indeed, Westminster has been keen to offload Scottish diplomatic issues already.:wall:

LOL, if you think the Bank of England is going to allow an independent Scotland to print Pound Sterling you are dreaming. And if you think Scotland will stick to the GBP in independence then it would be a stupid decision. Just look at the Euro to find out what happens when you don't control your own currency.IveSeenTheLight wrote: »
Scotland subsidizes the UK. Scotland's population makes up 8.6% of the UK yet raises 10.41% of ALL UK Tax revenue
That says nothing about Scotlands expenditure as a % of the UK. Just because it has a lower proportion of the population doesn't mean it doesn't spend less than it generates in tax. People have already talked of the larger public sector in Scotland.Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0 -
Like I said earlier the quicker we are rid the better. If you guys really think you will be better off then good luck, see ya.
What will happen after various tax offices for example are moved back down south, or would the great independence movement want to keep that sort of thing? I guess subsidising jobs in such a manner, at the expense of the South doesnt get covered by the formula?0 -
Hopefully an independant Scotland would help to renew calls for a united Ireland and we can get rid of that bloody mess too.0

I cant abide the Cornish either, hopefully they will secede too. Pasties are overrated.0

You've got to ask yourself, why is the government so keen to hold on to Scotland, to keep the union.
Certainly their not getting the vote up there.
Hmmmm, I wonder if they realise that they need Scotland more than they want to portray.:wall:

Ok, but I can find another link that shows the expenditure as being circa 9%, hence why I metioned before it was expenditure circa 9% whilst revenue was circa 11%:wall:
