You can alter the settings in properties to adjust the Kbps, check the help settings if you are unsure. (think for WMA you only get 96Kbps - dont use WMA anymore myself so not 100%)

You don't rip MP3 files, you just copy them. Ripping is for normal audio CDs where you have very samll cda file and the underlying audio. With MP3 you copy the file to the PC and then make an audio cd and the files end up in cda format.

Not true I ripped my mp3s to wma format, I inserted my mp3 disc and then with this program I ripped them all to the wma format with ease and now all my songs are on my 360 :)

    Thanks everyone :T

    Technically that's called transcoding.

I have mp3 files on a CD that I would like to rip to my PC as wma or cda files so I can burn to disc and put them on my 360 as WMP wont allow to rip from mp3 only cda, sorry for the naff first post.

Why rip? Just drag them onto your HD then burn as normal to cda.

I thought of that but it means doing an extra step, I mean if you have a look at the software I posted you can select certain tracks from the mp3 CD and then just rip to the output folder :)

I've looked at this and looks useful. I had a similar tool previously but found that converting one compressed format to another resulted in massive loss of detail when played back. As I'm a bit of an audiophile I found this unacceptable but also found that converting the mp3 back to cda then ripping again was better than converting directly(in terms of detail within the music). Admittedly time has moved on but mp3 is still better than the other major players (WMA, omg, etc)

As a result, I only compress once and avoid converters and wma like the plague.:D
