I don't get relationships like your brother's Cinny, maybe it felt like it worked for them but once they started living together the whole 'not talking for a day' thing fell flat and made them realise that the dynamic isn't healthy! The only thing worse than that behaviour is when a couple argues on FB! Grow up and stop airing your dirty laundry online!

They weren't even living together yet. They were staying at her Dads house as he's on holiday. I think he's just woken up to how controlling she will be when they live together. I think the fact they've broken up and he just isn't bothered shows there's nothing there.

Crikey though, you've got some list there!! You did really well with last months challenges though, you'll do great.

    Hi everyone,

Glad to hear your brother is ok Cinny, I can't imagine not talking to OH for a day, if he's done something that serious I'd be too busy yelling at him! Although for minor things I must admit I am more of a silent sulker, I have a ten minute mood then I'm over it!

Birdie, make sure you take lots of photos and get medical notes, but also take note of any other expenses, obviously any lost wages, but also things like can he still drive or would he be paying for taxis? Has he had to buy some cheap sleeveless tops so as not to irritate the burn? Have you taken time off to take him to doctors/hospital, this will have cost fuel etc. I know its seems daft, but my mum broke her arm slipping on a wet floor at work that wasn't signed or anything and she claimed for it, her solicitors asked her for all this random stuff! She didn't really want to claim but her work tried to hush it up, even asked the first aider to falsify her statement, and didn't even contact her while she was off to see how she was, so she decided to in the end. It would have been much cheaper for them just to send her a bunch of flowers I think!

Lara, rubbish news on the house, seems very odd? And Dinah, hope you start to feel better soon.

And Flower, I totally forgot to say yesterday but Noah is such a sweetie!

    November goals to follow...
    Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44
    Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid
  • Hi all, sloping in to update my October goals...

    Tete - October
    - Lose 5lbs
    - Unsure of this, the 5lbs would bring me to 10:6, Sun I was 10:5, yesterday 10:9(!) and today 10:8. TOTM to blame I think, jury's out on this til the end of the week I'd say!
    - Bring packed lunch for 16 remaining work days - (16/16) :)
    - Get to payday without dipping into my savings account - I spent £35.10 of my savings :o was inevitable at the stage of writing my goals I think but at least this helped with damage limitation...
    - Finish crocheting 2 baby blankets (currently at about 40% and 7% finished) - now about 80% and 7% - one baby has been born already
    - Get my 5k PB under 35 minutes (current 35.04) - Only ran twice since writing this and didn't manage it but DID keep within the 35:something band both times which I was pleased with.

Sigh, only one real success there. Thinking about my November goals....

Big Hello to Noah, what a cutie!

Cinny, er, pleased for your brother? I like the sound of trying to run a certain distance in November, might have that as one of my goals. (Hmm, quick bit of research and running the coast-to-coast distance (192miles) between now and new year would equal about 5k per day - what do you reckon?!)

Ouch Birdie's OH - I'd go to a solicitor I think otherwise you'll only get fobbed off and it does sound bad. Can you not claim on travel insurance for something like that or would it only be a case of compensation?

Oh, so annoying about the PP Lara - I suppose a house move to one of the more accommodating boroughs is out of the question before the games start? :D

    Get well soon Dinah!

    Afternoon all,

Dinah - hope the tablets kick in soon.

Birdie - hope ths soliciter can help you, does sound really painful! Hope your OH is doing ok.

Lara - that is so annoying about the house. We had a thing through our door that they are looking for flats in our marina for short term rent £1200 a month next year, we only pay £900. Shame we can't rent it out! Think it might be to do with the olympics as we are right by train station so quick to get to london.

Cinny - good nes for now about your bro, find him another girl quick :rotfl:.

I have been to town this morning and bought a basket and some bath stuff for my mums christmas hamper and a frame to put a pic of poppy in for my grandma. I also bought a nice long cosy cardy and two tops with my birthday vouchers/money.

    My November goals are:

    Lose 3lb
    Make Christmas cake
Make £15 a week on survey sites
Redeem £40 of vouchers towards christmas
  • Any links to the new clothes? :D Love the sound of the cardi!

Aww man, I need to add 'Make a Christmas cake' to my list too! Jeez, I think I might need to take a week off work to get on top of everything!

Tete, I don't think OH can claim on travel insurance as it'd just cover his costs incurred over there, but going to dig out the policy and check tonight! Fairly sure there isn't an option of 'Getting burned by a dippy stewardess' on the list of things you can claim for though! We've decided to write a very stern letter to Jet2 tonight with all of the information, OH was writing a long list of points to include at lunchtime bless him, and give them 28 to respond and say that after that time has passed they'll be hearing from our solicitor and we'll be informing Watchdog of their horrendous customer service (OH was pretty much chucked off the plane, stuck in an ambulance and forgotten about!). OH is convinced that solicitors will take all of his 'winnings' even though I've explained how it works but it's his claim so if he wants to try to get a settlement straight from the company first then I'll help him, but I've bookmarked the solicitor's contact details for when we need them. :) He's not too happy today as he's suffering from a delayed hangover! My Dad rang him this morning and said he felt the same! At least that's taking his mind off his arm :rotfl:

Shrimpy, your Mum's story reminds me of a guy I used to work with. He hit his head and broke his glasses on the racking at work. He put a claim in for £200 to pay for new glasses which work refused to pay for so he went off work with 'delayed concussion' and set lawyers onto them and ended up getting £2500, why didn't they just give him the £200 and an apology in the first place?!

£1200 a month for your flat Wendz?! Can't you camp in the garden for that month?! ;)

ETA: LOL and  at the phantom popping tyre!

Oh and I meant to say to Tete, trust you to only succeed in the foody task on your list! ;) What was your status update on FB the other day? It ended with 'I like food'! :rotfl:

    :o But I do!

I'd be camping in the garden I think Wendz hehe! Loving the cardi, v snuggly :)

Had NIM repaired his puncture the other day and it's just given way maybe? Shoddy job? :D

I've got 10 things on my November list so far :undecided

    EDIT - make that 12.
