Sold a few items and 2 of the buyers have received the items(according to RM tracking) and payed for them but feedback not left unless they're waiting for me to leave it. I usually leave feedback once ive received it (is this how everyone else does it).

You are going to start a fight now!
Leave feedback when you want, there are no rules although anecdotally many sellers believe that if they don't leave feedback first then buyers sometimes don't bother.
feedback is voluntary though, so if you are not bothered by it then just forget these transactions and move on.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I usually wait until I get feedback before leaving it myself. However, I've found recently that some people just don't bother. I've tried leaving feedback first on a few occasions, but it makes no difference. For some buyers it seems once they have paid, they feel no further obligations.
Frustrating, but forget about it.One half of the world cannot understand the pleasures of the other0 -
I always leave feedback as soon as I've dispatched the order and I have customised my feedback to mention something about the item being dispatched.
From what I've previously read on here a lot of buyers don't like leaving feedback 1st.
That said I think I've only received around 65-75% feedback from my buyers so far.0 -
As a seller I usually wait until the buyer as left feedback, as a buyer I leave it as soon as I am happy that everything is ok.
Some people always wait until the other has left feedback, do it every week or just don't bother at all (esp those with very high feedback).
Some sellers have auto feedback, as in as soon as you leave feedback as a buyer it leaves to one too.
Although I would expect feedback, I'm not bothered if I don't get it (maybe because I have nearly 500 100% positive).
I had a very annoying seller (who was new) that left me 15 messages pleading for feedback because I ordered something the day before I left on holiday.0 -
I've sold about 50% more items than the feedback figure I have. It is quite surprising how many buyers aren't interested in leaving feedback. I just leave feedback on every sale and hope for the best.0

I don't leave feedback on the Tesco site, or play.com, or amazon - unless the product or service has been outstanding in some way.
Its the same with ebay. I know for some it is like a community, but for me it is just another on-line shopping venue. I leave feedback if I've been particularly impressed, otherwise I often don't bother.I'm a retired employment solicitor. And if you're ever tempted to ask for feedback or remind them to leave it, people don't seem to like it and may leave you feedback you don't want

It looks as though virtually all of mine have left FB.
As a seller always leave when I post the item, as a buyer I don't leave FB until the seller does.
It's not right or wrong, just the way I prefer to do it.
As Miss says above, don't be tempted to ask for FB, that bugs people.
Ebay sends an automated message reminding you to leave feedback.0 -

yes i understand its voluntary but i go on the premise that if a contract is complete then it warrants to be informed of iteg teh buyer is happy with the purchase. But there could of course be a reason.
Wasnt my intention to start a fight though.0 -
I usually do leave FB on eBay, but I share your opinion.zzzLazyDaisy wrote: »I don't leave feedback on the Tesco site, or play.com, or amazon - unless the product or service has been outstanding in some way.

In many ways it hurts eBay and its reputation to pretend it's a community - it's a commercial site. I think that buyers can still get FB makes them much more likely to leave it, and that's about the only thing I like about it as the word "community" misleads people about their responsibilities."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
