The curry was lovely, thanks, it was from the Hairy Bikers cookbook that I got free with my Amaz0n vouchers  definitely one i'd do again! I didn't have some ingredients, like fresh chilli and fresh tomatoes, so i improvised with chilli flakes and tomato puree. Much cheaper than buying the fresh ingredients and tasted just as nice!

Bought my first Xmas present today :jthe B0dy Shop have a Quidc0 deal that allows you to spend £20 and have £10 off so i did that. They only allow you to use one deal at a time so i had to stand in the shop working out whether it was better to go for the 3for2 deal or use my voucher.. i'm easily confused :rotfl:(also did my Quidc0 check in so got 25p)

Back to work tomorrow :( i've to see the nurse before i'm allowed back so i'm hoping she might send me home again as I still have no glasses.. it's against health and safety surely? ;)

Well i hope everyone has had a beautiful sunny weekend xx

Meant to set myself some goals this week - see if i can stick to them:o

    • no extra supermarket shopping
    • under NO circumstances buy any kind of Xmas magazine! (major vice)
    • take lunch into work all week
    • stick to my calorie allowance for the week (will be doing alternate day fasting again)
    • stick to the meal plan
    • sort out car insurance ready for renewal
    • do all surveys and clicks/adpoints
    • make bunny rabbit topper and stars for friends cake
I will add to this as I think of new stuff today...

  • Hi Shala_Moo, I had a weakness for buying Xmas magazines, I always kept them, and each year I flick through them again - same with Easter :). Not quite the same as buying new ones, but I get the same Christmassy feeling :p

Have a good week, Tilly x

Hi Tilly, thanks for the tip, I have loads of old magazines.. but those shiny new ones try to get me to buy them all the time :rotfl:

I find they all repeat themselves most years, there's only so many ways to cook a turkey surely? And the thing is, we don't even have turkey for Xmas dinner... but for some reason I still have to buy them and they're £3.99!

I will stand strong this year.

  • Hi Shala_moo,

I've only just caught up on your thread so have been reading about the op, glasses and house insurance. I got some glasses paid for by work - they suit me but they're not really my style so I'm thinking I should save and get another pair but they're so expensive once you add prescription lenses! And buildings/contents insurance due for us next month too!

Hi MRN.. i make sure that i have my glasses for a long time to make them as cost efficient as possible! :D over one year they'd cost me 70p a day so if you look at it in those terms then it doesn't seem to bad and i think i've had the glasses i'm wearing now for about 4/5 years, as i've been waiting for my op..

Today I went back to work, I had an interview with the nurse and she told me i should be on a phased return for the next few wks so i left at 1pm, nice.. now i need to get as much work done in 5 hours a day as i would in the usual 8-9 hours. I was struggling a little with the pc screen though.. at home i increase the screen view so it's easier to read so I may have to try this at work too.

Will do my car insurance comparisons tonight so i'm ready for my renewal and then i can tick it off my list :)

    have a good day xx

    Family Loan £11,405.00
    Daily interest £17.76

So i'm happy that things are going the right way again! Won't be under £160k by xmas but never mind....

Have picked up my glasses today so i now need to learn how to see again, i can see long distance fabulously but i think close up work is going to take a bit of getting used to! Vari-focals = "Vari" weird! *rolly eyes smiley*

Hope everyone is ok, i can't stay on the computer for long periods of time as my eye just becomes sore so i've not had much time to catch up with everyone's diaries.. xx

    • no extra supermarket shopping - this didn't quite go to plan :o
    • under NO circumstances buy any kind of Xmas magazine! (major vice) - done, stayed away from all magazine shops and aisles :j
    • take lunch into work all week - wasn't in work at lunch times so no need
    • stick to my calorie allowance for the week (will be doing alternate day fasting again) - managed to lower my calories and lose 2lb but still need to do better
    • stick to the meal plan - pretty much, 5 out of the 7 days
    • sort out car insurance ready for renewal - have a quote which looks to be £100 (plus £40 cashback) less than i paid last yr but my renewal letter still hasn't arrived so I won't jump just yet.
    • do all surveys and clicks/adpoints - done
    • make bunny rabbit topper and stars for friends cake - went to set it up this morning for the little girls birthday, and then ran away before the 56 kids arrived!!
    Money saving this week :
    • shopped at the fruit and veg shop instead of supermarket(6 peppers for £1):T
    • t0pcashback pymt - £14.29
    • Requested Panelba$e payout £10.50
    • paid off credit card
    • received my reward from Max1miles and have cancelled my account - takes too long to get points
    • money shuffled to Hal1fax
    • went through TCB to get quotes for the car insurance - £2.52 in cashback
    • received my dental plan cheque back for the filling i had £48.00

Not a very money saving weekend this weekend as we've just got back from Chester

:) cost us <£30 for 3 meals out and this was mainly the drinks - used Tesc0 vouchers to cover the costs of the food
:( needed to buy some new clothes - my jeans were literally falling apart at the seams
:) OH bought me a lovely new handbag for my xmas present so it didn't cost me anything
:( hotel was a little pricey but the breakfasts were lovely
:) started my xmas shopping - now have 3 presents and an idea for OH but couldn't get it as he was with me
:( i may have accidently bought some lovely boots :D but in my defence they were half price - i love Cheshire Oaks! So technically i saved £35:whistle:
:) had a lovely bath at the hotel - we can't run a proper bath here as our water tank is too small and also i don't want to pay for the water :rotfl:so i took advantage

hope everyone has a great week xx
