I registerd with agncey 2 weeks ago, and he tells me call him every week, to give him a update, and so computer doenst rub my details of after 2 weeks.

he also said when jobs come he will call me.

I know real reason he wants me to call, hes pshing just incase i have any interviews.

I dont want to call him anymore, first i have nothing to say to him, second i cant be bothred with it.

I know it seems quick and eacy but every week, however i dont want to lose out on any jobs he may have.

Well if you don't call, you aren't going to get any jobs are you so if you don't want to lose out on any jobs he may have, I suggest you phone him every week like he's asked you to!

Call him every week so that he can do his job in helping you find employment.

And if you're concerned, don't tell him of any up-coming interviews until you get the job. I remember reading here that a agency scr*wed up chances of person getting 'the' job (found on own) because the agent unnecessarily bad-mouthed that person to jeopardise their chances - something about the agency pushing someone else into the role - I think they were poaching to help their targets.

If it was me and I was unsure of the motives (or simply learning from above), I wouldn't tell him of any upcoming interviews until you're set.

Best be cautious, these are hard times we're in.

he will call me if any jobs come.
Yet i have to still call him everyweek.

Loads of agncey try phishing, i dont like it, hence i nevr tell them about interviews.

They say stuff like we dont want to send you for interview with same company.
  • He SAYS he will call you if anything suitable comes up. That doesn't mean that he will. People are often lazy and will be tempted to contact the last suitable person they spoke to. If you don't keep in touch that most definitely won't be you. If you have no intention of keeping in touch with them I suggest that you save yourself and the agency the bother and ask them to remove you from their records. Let them be in contact with someone who is willing to expend some time and effort in securing a job.

Ignore anything they say about not sending you for interviews with the same company by not telling them who you have been in contact with. Simple.

If you register and then don't keep in contact with them, then they aren't going to call you first when a job comes in; they will call the person they spoke to that morning who rang to let them know they are still available. When I was temping through agencies I would regularly email to let them know my availability, and if I hadn't spoken to them in a week I would call to remind them I was available and check if they had anything coming up. You don't have to tell them about other interviews if you don't want to.

If you can't be bothered to ring him, then he is always going to offer the job first to someone who can be bothered. How you act towards the agency reflects how you will act in a job, so be professional and keen.

If i was you i would be calling every morning until i had work, that way you will be fresh in their mind if suitable work comes up and you will appear like you actually want to work.
If you had one job to allocate who would you give it to, person (A) who calls every week but makes it sound like a chore or person (B) who calls every day and sounds eager to get started? I know my choice.

They will forget about you if you don't stay in touch- you need to stay fresh in their minds.

As for the old 'don't want to send you to the same interview twice' rubbish they come up with, well if they aren't sending you to interviews (doesn't seem like they are) there is no chance of that! :P
