Tips on ensuring a good burn on a muti fuel burner

Am having difficulties with the stove. For example, last night I had it roaring over 7 hours knocking out great heat. Tonight, over the past 5 hours, I haven't been able to get it going at all. Am using the same type of fuel ie same coal and some wood, with paper and cardboard, but just have not been able to get it up to temperature. Why is this and is there any way round this?

You've been given advice time and time again but not listened so I don't know why anyone would bother replying to this thread?!0

Nothing to do with your older thread 'burning unseasoned wood'?0

Hmmm none of you have answered the question.0

Must be your age, have you tried those blue tablets to get it going?
As for the stove, litre of unleaded, then go very close when lighting, if we don't hear from you in a few days time................it worked :j

hr - you've made a distinct point of trying to wind people up on this forum it seems. You've been given a lot of good advice by a lot of people and you've made an effort to let them all know that you intend to do the opposite of what they advised. You've also pointed out in no uncertain terms that you don't need anyone's advice.
I'm about as laid back as they come, but I'm starting to think I was just wasting my time in replying to your posts, as I think you were just trying to provoke a reaction. So having said that, I think I'm going to leave you to it.
And yes, I know exactly why you're having problems...0 -
Have you tried freezing your Anthracite before burning? A few hours in the freezer would surely work wonders by driving out the stuff which is stopping it burning on alternate days. Ime, I find that particular fuel often is too dry, so perhaps soaking in a bucket of water for several days so it soaks up extra oxygen, along with hydrogen which is such a great fuel they run cars on it sometimes.
You could check your installation too. I'm afaid if you were bullied into have a register plate fitted on other threads ... well IT WAS A JOKE! If you had one fitted, then obviously it needs to come out tout d'suite to ensure a roaring flame. Also, check the flue pipe - when I looked at mine there was a dirty great hole in it which just caused a big draught and blew the flames out. Get plenty of fire cement and block it up - you'll very soon feel the difference.0
