I've been awake for about an hour now, spent an hour tossing and turning in bed and then gave up on sleep! I'm pretty annoyed with myself! Tuesday is a very long day, tiring day for me and then after work, I went to my local pub for a bite to eat with a friend. I don't normally go out on "school" nights but she works away and is only back for 4 days! So I think I over tired myself, went to bed early-ish, slept so soundly that I didn't hear my dd come back from work and now of course I'm all slept out! I just hope I can face another day at work without too much yawning.
When my salary went into my account on Friday, it didn't seem right. I never get the same amount every month because I get a basic salary, and then I have to claim for extra hours that I do in another part of my job. I have to make a separate claim for these. I am sure, about 99% sure, that I put a claim in, and so is my manager (who has to sign it) but apparently my claim form didn't reach "the powers that be" so I'm about £400 short before tax! Never mind! I'll get it next month (fingers crossed) with my January hours. I'm going to be extra vigilant from now on!
I'm still hoping to pay an extra £250 of my cc this month but it may have to wait until the end of Feb. I have one more week at work and then a week off, and I don't want to be short of money for that, as I'm planning to catch up with friends
Well, I'm drinking coffee and fully awake now. I like the first day of the month, brand new shiny month! So happy 1st of Feb every one! lol!LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

Oh no! Sorry about your pay. Will you get the money in next month's salary?
It's OK to go out on a school night. I never go out, so you'll have to do ts, everyone socialising for me too!
It'll be a good month......Er, ignore today though!DEBT FREE SINCE 25.07.14!

Oh I'll get it next month! As long as my claim forms don't get mislaid again. I might have to go on strike then lol!
I finally got an appointment for my foot. Have been waiting since November. It's in.... March! If I didn't say, I think I injured some tendons in my foot. Thankfully, it seems to be getting better and at this rate I'll be fully recovered by March! Perhaps that's why they do it? That's the NHS for you. I could have gone to a private podiatrist but thought no, I pay my contributions so why should I?LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

Hi GreenSaints, my foot is much, much better these days. Once I identified what I thought the problem was, I bought a support bandage, specifically for tendon problems and it progressed rapidly! Let's hope it doesn't plateau and it carries on getting better. I'm limited as to what shoes I can wear of course (2 pairs at the moment) but I'm going to try my walking boots to go up the high street tomorrow, especially if it snows!LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

That's better news. Don't rush recovery, take it easy

Had to get some cartridges and some paper for my printer! Best part of £50 gone!!! ouch! But the worst is that I had to go to Tesco for the cartridges and there is nothing guaranteed to irritate me more than a trip to Tesco: the place is always full of chavs and/ or dithering idiots!!! Off to calm down in a dark corner now :rotfl:LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

I don't get the appeal of Zumba. I never got the hang of it, plus I'd rather do a proper circuit then get all my wobbly bits moving!
I hate Tescos. I prefer Asda, but in there, there are more idiots and chavs!DEBT FREE SINCE 25.07.14!

I try to go shopping when the idiots and chavs will be in: ie Friday night. I can have really exciting Friday nights like doing a 2 week shopping at Asda and then defrosting the freezer. I really live the high life!! I prefer Asda too and I like the Asda guarantee thing. I've save lots of money and I use mysupermarket.com as well.
I'm debating whether to pay an extra chunk of £250 of my cc. It would mean that even after interest, my balance next month would be below 1k (not by much but still!!). It wouldn't leave me short because I have about £100 left to pay on bills, by Friday 2 weeks before payday, and my second job. I would have paid £500 this month and about 45% of my balance since January - well on track for my Easter DFD. I need to think a bit about it. I'm just a bit worried in case I had a car problem or something, and needed this cash but then I have my savings account. I need to think about it.
I wish I'd never spent that money on cc. Often when I pay it off now, specially big chunks, I feel like I'm throwing money away. It would have been so nice to have £500 this month to just do whatever I wanted, like put it towards a holiday, save it, or simply not to have to give it to BC! My younger self was very stupid!
Perhaps the solution is 5 x £50 payments? That wouldn't hurt so much.LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

Hey,
I get like that sometimes. The thing is, it's happened now and you just have to forget it and move one. My CC debt was all house related things, so I'm glad I spent it (as I have a nice garden and bathroom) but it's been nearly 3 years since that happened and I'm still paying it off!
I've got a long way yet to have that money free every month, but I can't wait till I do!
In December I wanted to pay £250 (which I did) but split it weekly. It did feel a lot better (less stress in case anything happened) but you have to be disciplined into paying it weekly. I kept seeing that money in my account and going 'OOooooooo' but had to resist!DEBT FREE SINCE 25.07.14!
