Shoplifting Moshi Monsters!

Options
My 6 year old has been saving his pocket money to buy a pack of 5 Moshi Monsters (£4.97 in Tescos).

Each blister pack has 5 monsters, 4 you can see through the plastic and a secret one you can't.

He absolutely loves them!

Went to Orpington Tescos this morning to buy a pack and every single one had been ripped open and various monsters removed!!!

The section manager happened to be walking past so I showed him and he sighed and said they'd have to take every pack off the shelves. I said I couldn't believe the kids could be stealing them so blatantly and he said unfortunately the problem seems to lie with the parents and they had caught adults ripping open the packs a few times that week.

Infact the packs had been moved higher and the problem persists.

Cue one upset 6 year old and the likelihood that this particular Tesco won't bother restocking. Grrr!

Cannot believe the idiots who do this.

Note to boring old trolls

Yes I know it's a rip off for little bits of plastic that costs pennies to make.

Yes I know that it's not the end of the world and I can look elsewhere.

Hope that saves you posting pointless comments on this thread.

Could you have offered to buy a few of the damaged packs for a very discounted price? If you don't ask, you don't get. Maybe worth a try??

I've noticed a similar thing with packs of Bumpeez in Tesco - there appears to be a box full, but all the packets are ripped open and the contents strewn over the bottom of the box.

I was looking at the Moshi Monsters sets that you mention earlier today with DD and DS and none of the ones in my local Tesco were damaged. Do they sell them in Argos? Those boxes wouldn't be opened.

And it looks like we made it once again

Did ask to have a pack at a discount but he was under instructions to return them. I suggested selling them as singles for a £1 each (no financial loss) but he said at this stage, with this amount of theft, he had no choice.

My son did get a small pack of 2 so not all was lost but sometimes you just think, is there anything some people will not steal!!

Sadly, people will steal anything! When I worked in a small high street pharmacy, we used to sell face packs in sachets for 50p. We caught the local druggie shoplifter stuffing a couple of them down his trousers
I know that he was going to sell them on but how much money did he think he was going to make? :rotfl::rotfl:

We also caught a burgler who had broken into the shop several times, he was finally caught by a silent alarm that the police fitted for us. When they got him, he was carrying a very heavy holdall, stuffed full with bottles of £1 shampoo. Yet he didn't even touch any of the expensive OTC medicines, nor the prescription drugs behind the counter, or even the couple of bottles of posh perfume that were on the shelf behind the till. Moron!

I bought DD a pack of 6 school socks once in the back to school promotion...last pack in her size and it contained only 4 pairs. How sad are you to steal 2 pairs of kids socks that only cost £3 for all 6 pairs!

Our local paper was talking about a big increase in shoplifting. Including from charity shops.

What sort of a person steals from a charity shop?

I don't condone what is happening, but when will companies learn that parents don't have a bottomless pit of money? Companies try to hide certain characters from kids (lego for example), hiding the barcodes so parents have no idea if they've bought that character previously. I really hope it's the company that feels it in the pocket in these situations.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I read somewhere it's because charity shops don't pay for their goods, so thieves see it as nobody losing out.

I dont think there are many thieves who think about who their victims are.

A scum thief is a scum thief period.

    Is this a real post?
