Can you please name this insane company!

They must have lost the plot! They get a new customer who is happy and potentially might buy again! SO for the sake of a few £ delivery they are making a fuss over some code which may or may not be valid!

If there systems cant cope with codes then they shouldnt use them! Its pretty easy to get a system which can determine a new customer from old.

Attracting new customers costs much more than a returning customer! They should be greatful!

This is nothing like counterfit money! Its the same as you finding a 10% discount voucher for a retailer and using it instore, they dont chase after you a week later saying sorry madam but that code was for existing customers only! Its just plain and simple rubbish systems and customer care!
  • They could threaten to take you to court but the chances of them doing that over £30 are non-existant, the judge would laugh them out of court.

They're just trying to claw something back from you in the hope you're frightened enough to cave in. I would ignore it.

Well actually they're asking for the £30 as far as i understand it, i dont think this included the delivery just the amount for the goods themselves.

But as i stated earlier, i'm of the opinion that customer made offer, they accepted, contract was concluded.

I wouldnt say its like insurance at all. They calculate your insurance premiums based on information you give them. Depending how much of a risk you are will affect your premium. If you even enquire about a claim but dont make one, you're more of a risk and your premium will go up. When you go to make a claim, insurers will check a central database and have refused to pay out because people didnt declare an enquiry (not a claim) they had made. If you have a policy void for this reason, you can technically become uninsurable.

Now.......wouldnt it be more sensible of them to check the system BEFORE confirming the policy? Probably 3 reason why they dont. 1, they wouldnt get your business/money. 2, It may cost them money to check. 3, it gives them a reason to invalidate your policy and not pay out on a claim.

Dont let them fool you. Insurance may give us peace of mind but at the end of the day, they're not much better than scammers. Bad example to use i think.
