Hi
I want to change from PAYG to contract but i don't have a clue what is a good phone to get or who to go with

I do want enough minutes and texts to last me a month but not stupid amounts im looking at paying £20 or less a month

Do some contracts roll over what you have left for the following month as i might use it 1 month but not others

I want internet access so i can use my phone to check things rather than starting the laptop up all the time

The phone itself i need one that is not too complicated to use i was looking at the HTC wildfire but theres others like desire etc and i dont know the difference

I like listening to music so would like one with a good sound and volume as i know some dont sound too good when playing music

Can anybody give me some help please

Why? Irrespective of PAYG or Contract the phone remains the same, and with 80% of users not using up their bundle the cost to you is invariably greater, and add to this the risk to your credit file if you have unforseen events. There's no advantage in a contract whatsoever, so buy your handset independently, it might cost you up front, but there's no such thing as a 'free' phone.

Add to that the risk of a massive bill if you make a mistake like going abroad and not turning data off etc.

Also remember most "inclusive minutes" contracts will exclude a load of call types eg 0845/0870 even some that look like normal mobile numbers. Some even exclude 0800 and charge you for them even though they're meant to be free! So a typical £20 a month contract is likely to cost more than £20 a month in reality, even if you don't use up your allowance.
