No, i dont think you can use the handset at all. But unlock your current phone, buy the SIM and try it that way:oGetting married 23rd June 2012!!:o0

You can if the phone is unlocked or locked to the network you need. I think you can order a free sim card from any network.To see if the signal is decent, could I buy a £1 sim card from local shop and put it in the phone?
DSR apply only to unused goods. Some retailers have less strict internal policies.I've got the option with the distance selling rule to send it back! Thanks0 -
Thanks for replies, have actually ordered 2 phones different network to see which is best. If I try with the same network sim, would they be able to tell it has been used:o0

No you don't. You only have the option to return it if you don't use it and it is in its original packaging as supplied.0
