Csa case closed - still in shock

Does anyone know if the CSA have started closing cases yet as per their new system to be introduced? CSA phoned me today and told me that my ex had closed the case and I wondered if she did this out of choice or because she had to and then re-apply in a few months time. If she has done this out of choice I am absolutely gob smacked. I am CSA1 and have been self employed for nearly two years and, although I have continued to pay through the CSA, the amount I pay is nothing like the ridiculous amount I was paying when I was PAYE.

They haven't started closing cases, but perhaps your ex thinks you might have to pay more if the case is on new rules? She can close the case on CS1, then reapply in another 13 weeks, and the new case will be on CS2.0 -
Yes, I did wonder this but in fact I would be quite pleased if that was the case as CSA2 is much more straightforward.0

Don't hold your breath on the new system! They said that they were going to move all CSA 1 cases on to CSA 2 in 2003. Has this happened, No. Can they tell the truth? No! Should you trust anything that anyone that works for the CSA? No!0

Are any pensions contributions taken into account when assessing on CSA2,as with CSA1, or is it strictly 15% of net income?0

Do yourself a favour and carry on paying in the meantime...! It may well prove you want to be a parent and can be responsible enough to do this without the need for the CSA to be involved. Although it may be worth asking her to sign for receipt of payment or set up agreed direct debit with a "contract" signed by both of you agreeing amounts and how regular to be paid as CM.
And i wish you luck with doing this, as it will make life a whole lot easier in the future i'm sure...
It may be worth including copies of pay slips or similar so she can actually see the 15% paid if that is what you are going to pay. Set her mind at rest... Build some trust and get on with your life...0 -
With any luck the CSA might be working to the D.W.P. document "strengthing families, promoting parental responsibility, The future of child maintenance" chapter 3 :- Moving to the new child maintenance system, "CASES WILL BE SELECTED FOR CLOSER IN SUMMER 2011" one can only hope!!! but just remember the CSA can't lie straight in bed as we all know.:beer:0

The new scheme isn't starting until Autumn 2012, so they won't close cases yet.0 -
Anyone betting they will close cases then????
Remember what was said in 2003!0
