What is your primary (main) operating system?

Just wondering what the general user base here uses as their primary OS.

If you dual boot, just vote for which one you use more, or maybe post the different uses of each.

I personally use Ubuntu, but also use Windows XP (via VMWare within Ubuntu) for Development, and Windows XP (via a light install on a seperate partition) for gaming.

OSX Tiger. Haven't found a need for any other. But I only use it for making movies, web sites, Photoshop, browsing, email and writing. I don't play any games and I have no interest in viruses.

XP Pro for home and work - I'm sufficiently happy with it not to look for anything else - I'm not changing OS for the sake of it :)

    Woooo!

I was/am and always have been very happy with XP. I started using Linux via dual boot, just to have something to tinker with, out of curiosity etc.., but ended up really liking it, hence the switch.

I still use and need Windows though. Interesting to see though, thought they'd be a larger OS X user base here.

Windows 2000 is my choice, the most useable and stable OS Microsoft have produced in the last 10 years. I would like to go over to Ubuntu but It would mean teaching my dad how to use it. I have finally managed to get him to create folders without asking me how to do it every time.

I was gonna put a pic of my network connection but imageshack seems to be having problems at the moment. currently showing 7 days of uptime normally I reboot every 60 or so days.

I'm another Ubuntu user and prefer it to XP for a number of reasons.

I'm a software developer and a lover of all things "techie" so Ubuntu definitely has the "cool factor" as far as I'm concerned. I like being able to install Ubuntu on any of my machines without worrying about serial numbers and the number of times I've installed it on a specific machine, hello XP! I fully believe in open source software and am proud to support the community, providing their products are good enough and Ubuntu certainly is!

I would say that I think Ubuntu is better suited to people who are very comfortable using XP as it requires tinkering and configuration that would be beyond most computer newbies.

This has really got my interest.

Too beta for me to try now, but imagine how many people will try Ubuntu if it's as easy as a Windows Installer!
