Kwik fit Home Insurance

I have a problem with Kwik fit home insurance, I had a policy with them for about 8 months. I missed a payment and they sent a letter to contact to make the payment over the phone. I kept calling and leaving messages because no one ever answered the phone but they never replied to me. They then sent a letter stating that my policy was cancelled and I owed them £85 but I disputed it because my phone bill has all the calls I made. So they agreed to rescind the old policy and I was given a new one starting 29 September, 2011 but the next day I opened a bank account with Halifax because I got fed up with my old building society rates for overseas withdrawals and I got quoted £9 a month home insurance. I then cancelled my home insurance with Kwik fit on Monday because my partner agreed that their quote was better and they quoted me £60 odd pound to withdraw from them. My partner is disputing it because she found it unreasonable but they have now sent a letter dated October 4th telling me I need to pay them £112.62 inclusive of the admin fee to withdraw. Isn't this profiting from a withdrawal which they are not supposed to do and frankly its just obscene and taking the mick.

They've now sent me another letter this morning 9.45 am saying that they have been unable to contact me although they have both my landline and mobile. And they called my home either wednesday or friday and my neice took the message that they would call back. Haven't heard or seen a message on either phone, hmmm? Sent them an email and they haven't replied yet so I'm always in contact.0
