Viagra Spam

I was getting up to 75 viagra spam messages a day until this week but this is now exceeding 300 per day.
Is there any way of filtering these out and automatically deleting them in GMail? I don't want them in my spam box or in my deleted folder. I just want them deleted, full stop!

See if mailwasher free helps
http://www.mailwasher.net/
Check your mail via mailwasher, it has its own list of blocked sites, so most of those will go, it can be set to check at intervals
You need to check any friends are not listed as spam, add them to your friends list as those arrive0 -
Just out of interest, why don't you want them to go to the spam folder? That's what its there for and Gmail will automatically delete anything in there older than 30 days (same for the Bin folder). I never look through the spam folder as I've always found the Gmail automatic spam filter to be quite good.
You might want to consider a change of email address if you're getting that much spam every day though (and use totally separate ones for things like forums or competitions)Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
That's a bit of a hard one.
I filter the actual word, though you have to allow for variations, so viagra, viagara, vigara etc. They use variations of web addys too so sometimes it is better to use the word filter.0 -

Mainly because I do get valid emails going to the spam folder and it gets more difficult to find them among 300 Viagra spam! You might want to consider a change of email address if you're getting that much spam every day though (and use totally separate ones for things like forums or competitions)
Yes I had considered that but changing email addresses is a much bigger task that changing a bank account!0 -
You may want to get one which is only used for filling in online competitions, insurance comparison sites etc0

Fair enough. I've never had stuff ending up in the spam folder that shouldn't have so I stopped looking through it eons ago!I had considered that but changing email addresses is a much bigger task that changing a bank account!
Yes it's a PITA, but possibly worth it. Just create your new address(es) and slowly update things as and when, you don't have to do it all in one go.Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
I'm with Fastmail.fm - sure it's a paid account, but the spam filtering includes the option for silent blocking of 100% certain spam, and lets you make throwaway email accounts for websites you don't trust.
In years of being with it though, I've not had to abandon my 'spam' email yet as the spam filtering presumably has been effective.0 -
Have you thought that maybe your other half is trying to tell you something?:rotfl:0

Why not create a filter and set it to auto-delete them ? I appreciate that a lot will be mis-spelled but if it catches some then it's worth it.0
