    Thats a bit over-precise isn't iit? They don't charge to the nearest 100th of a kWh. :D

Anyway, for the last 12 months ours were 5003 kWh electricity and 16238 kWh gas. 4 bedroom house. 2 adults most of the time. 3 some of the time, and occasionally 4.

Thanks Stephen, yes it is a bit over precise, but those are the exact figures received in our letter today.

I've gotten one from ebay, and plumbed it in myself. Not very hard.
    Total cost ~500.

Very similar to this (no experience of seller).

I had electric only water heating, but the cylinder had a coil for connecting to a central heating system.
So, all it was was remove a couple of tiles, place proper pipework through them and fitments, replace the tiles with aluminium sheet properly bent, add a small DC pump (5 watts), and fill it up with antifreeze.
You do need to be completely happy with plumbing, and the consequences of oopses if things go wrong.
After several dull days in succession, with drawing off water, the temperature stabilises at around 25.
However, most days since June it's been dumping heat due to being too hot.

    Thanks Roger, very useful information.
