Need help completing a half-finished installation

Hi folks,
A few months ago a sky engineer came to do a private job for me, installing magic eye to three rooms and routing all cables through walls etc from the main sky room. He took half payment at the time for all the cables (which are fine), one magic eye to the most used room and a spare sky remote which I needed anyway. What he hasn't finished is the remaining 2xmagic eyes (TV link Pro's which I've bought from ebay plus F female connectors), and installation of some sort of amplifier to the back of the sky box to eliminate fuzziness to the tellies around the house (so he said anyway).
The guy isn't coming back and he's not returning my calls but I'm pretty sure I can finish his mess off. I've sorted the magic eyes out and the settings on the sky menus are already done. But I have no idea what kind of box he was talking about though and how it will be connected to the box. i do know it will require a 3 way split to send the signal to each of the magic eye rooms via coaxial cable.
If anyone can help me with info to get this job finished off myself I'd be extremely grateful

You'll find all the free technical information you need on the SatCure site.0

The box will be an amplifier/ boaster as you describe but you need to be careful what you buy as many amps do not allow the signal from the Magic Eye to go back through to the Sky Box.
You'll either need to find one that explicitly states its compatible with return signals or speak to another installation company and see if they will sell you one (or sell and fit) that they guarantee will work with Magic Eyes0 -

As you have learnt DO NOT use sky guys for private jobs, they normally have no skills past what they have been hand held to do and have NO INSURANCE when drilling in your property and running about through lofts.0 -
thanks for the advice folks, really appreciate it. I have ordered an T140 amplifier/splitter which I have found online. Thankfully all the drilling and cabling has been fine for several months now and there was no need to access the loft at the time as we live on end terrace therefore all gable end wiring. I will check the RF settings again after all has been installed.Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!

My training at Sky lasted about a week & a half to become an installer, with another week job shadowing an experienced guy,my training at NTL CableTel in 98,to become an installer was three months, with additional courses after that as well as an accredited industry certification course, then more training when I moved to Service
Not to sound big headed, but when I was at Sky,I think I was more qualified than 90% of the other workers, including the managers..0
