reccommendations for broadband please

I am looking for a new broadband provider (probably just stand alone, not a bundle).
My criteria:
1)UK Call centres for techincal issues - preferably with a local/free phone helpline number
2) unlimited use - i watch a lot of tv on it as i no longer have a tv
3) good customer service
4) good speeds/network coverage
5) would prefer not to be tied into a contract - incase they turn out to be poor, then i can leave.
I am not obsessed with price. Obviously do not want to pay through nose but would rather have a reliable service and not have to phone Indian call centres all the time. That is more important to me. I suppose that rules out most of the big players. Any experiences you have had/reccommendations would be great.

Broadband is exchange specific, so start by doing an exchange search on https://www.samknows.co for the LLU providers available on your exchange. These will be the most competitive deals for you.
You don't say who your current supplier is?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I have found Plusnet good, if you live in the right area you can get it cheaper. Unlimited costs more and if you have your own router and pay and extra £25 for connection you arent tied into a contract - but itsnt that being stopped at the end of the year anyway?
They are great on the phone and are Yorkshire based.0 -
If your area supplies it then BE Unlimited is excellent
They have an 020 number you can call - their CS is in Bulgaria but they go above and beyond the call of duty to help you and speak perfect English
Speeds are great, downtime is extremely rare and they are truly unlimited
If you have an 02 phone - its cheaper I believe - but they always seem to have special offers0
