When MS companies require photos they never take into account how you take one at night. You will probably get numerous proofreading queries and loose the will to live. Is it a RE job?0

GreenSaints wrote: »Hi all,
I just got accepted for my first Mystery Shopper job and I'm really scared!
I don't have to be there long (10 minutes apparently) but how can I take photos without getting noticed. It's tonight, so it'll be dark and its outside so unless I can pretend its lightning, I think I might get rumbled!
Any advice or tips would be great
Thank you in advance
If it's a shop and it's dark then I take a photo without flash. The signs should all be lit up so it's clear where you've visited! Good luck0 -
I asked a similar question ref the TNS car visits recently and one of the posters who does them suggested getting a seperate SIM and email with all the follow up calls and potential hassle from salesmen. I guess like everything some visits are fine and others a PITA!0

@Lil_Me - I don't know what RE stands for. It was through Amber Arch
@jonno1001 - its not a shop, but a place outside (I don't know how much more I can say!) It should be lit, but I'm still scared!DEBT FREE SINCE 25.07.14!

The best thing to do is find a flat surface to place your camera before you take your shot. Things such as a wall, the roof of your car, a bus stop, a lamp post, anything. You can press the bottom or side of the camera up against the surface and then your image should come out a lot clearer.
As for being worried about taking the image, don't. Normally you take such shots afterwards so just have your camera ready when you're about to leave the area of your assignments. Loads of people takes photos of all sorts of random stuff these days, so one more person photographing a random thing isn't going to be a surprise to anyone.0 -

Think you got us mixed up, either way!, RE stands for Retail Eyes, they're a company listed on the first page who routinely ask for photos of the places you visit. They're also well known for asking silly proofreading queries.
I know they jobs you're talking about, but not the full details as I'm not doing them. You should blend in a little more in that environment. Don't be nervous, be confident, just take the photo and move away. I've never been questioned taking that type of photo. So don't overthink it and try not to stand there for ages trying to get the "perfect" shot. work out where you're going to stand, get the camera ready, move to where you want to be and snap. Try not to stand there for a minute with the camera poised up which is a little too obvious.0 -

Thoroughly enjoyed doing all my EGGS this morning. It's shocking how the cashiers go from pouting and rude to super nice when you ask for a receipt and about the membership card. Hahahaha!:eek::eek: Also love it when you have to go back for a refund/replacement and the cashier strokes your hand when they give you the refund probably expecting a good report! :A:A0

Hoping it was a female cashier Mimi?? Maybe she was expecting more than just a good report from you. We all know what a charmer you are after all.
Green Saints - you'll be fine. The less you worry about it, the better you will do. We've all been there having to do a first job, and of course it can be nerve racking, but act confident, and I bet you will finish this evening with a big sigh of relief, but thinking that actually it wasn't so bad after all! :cool:Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700
