Chas I agree with you mostly.
I think marvellousaunt was right to leave as she was feeling unsafe. I also think she should have been honest with RE about it as this data is actually quite useful to the client. No it won't effect any of the MOS but it will make them aware that this store will not be visited by anyone whos not a local and maybe they should look into doing something about it. Plus if its a persistant thing RE could make shoppers aware of the "calibre" of client in the Bookies so they can make an informed decision. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
We are paid to tell lies, it's what we do. We are all accomplished liars, clearly some of us are far more experienced in the art of lying than others....
i consider us to be actors playing a role and following a script and a producers direction - more than just liars.
Obviously as on Tv/ films etc there are some better actors than others0 -
I'm starting to get worried here guys, obviously GYP dont like us telling the truth on the Burger jobs but other than that I would have thought that honesty was the key. Obviously you will get more queries when the job wasnt a perfect run as the client will want to know preceicely what went wrong and why. End of the day lying to MS companies is Fraud. I wonder at the wisdom of admitting to that here when the MS companies all read it.This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0

On a different note, any sign of gap payments this month? I can't remember the last time I was paid on the 24th!0

I think some of us think that we are paid to tell lies as PART of the assignment. I don't lie to the allocating company ever.
For those of you who think this is mad, I've actually found it's a great way to finding out who are the really good companies to work for. How they deal with an issue or a mistake is a really good indicator of whether you can trust them to look after you!0 -

I totally endorse everything said in this postThis was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
What makes me laugh about this forum is this: Had marvellousaunt posted that she didn't feel safe in the betting shop, left early, told RE & didn't get paid, many posters would have said that she shouldn't have been honest & should have falsified the times, then she would have been paid! :rotfl:
Based on the response of so many people on here I don't think anyone would have told her to lie on the report. Had that happened I know that I would have sympathised and perhaps said she should push RE for some form of payment for her time (like a closed shop fee), but I would certainly not have told her to falsify the report.0 -
Personally I don't think marvellousaunt has committed a heinous crime, she's explained why she did what she did, she's accepted that betting shop jobs are not for her, RE have got the report they asked for & most importantly marvellousaunt has learned a valuable lesson: don't be too honest on a mystery shopping forum :rotfl:
The poster has explained it here, but not to the MS company; that's the point.
Also, the poster shows an apparent disregard for the MS company's stipulation that a certain length of time should be spent in store: the poster is saying that it doesn't matter because the questionnaire could be answered. I believe that alarm bells will ring if representatives of MS companies read those sorts of comments. When the poster realised that they were unable to complete the assignment in accordance with the brief, they should have notified the MS company.
I believe that shoppers should be honest on a forum. However, a shopper has a contractual obligation to be honest with a MS company! I would like to think that the shopper now has doubts about fibbing to MS companies. As Max Aben has said, MS companies, clients and staff have the option to use CCTV to verify MS results. Quite rightly, too. Shoppers need to be beyond reproach.
I can see that there will be differences of opinion over this. My feeling is that there are two types of shoppers: those who take their work seriously and those who are in it for quick bucks. Never the twain shall meet.0 -

I was looking back at when money hit my bank account from gap and recently it's been
5th October
24th August (that was exciting)
29th July
29th June
23rd May (did someone press the button too soon?)
4th May
So maybe it will come later this week.....or maybe not.
How about Bare - am wondering when the job I did at the beginning of September will get paid.0
