Did a travel job for RE and it was a total nightmare - took over an hour to get a quote so totally not worth it. Have a travel job booked in for GR - does anyone know if this will be as bad as the fee's not worth it if it will take me an hour just to do the shop?

Just done the smartphone survey for GFK and everyone is right - really stupidly designed.

    I avoid then both
just reading the brief and having worked in the industry at one time, I knew it would not be a quick one
previous people here have reported the same.. shame you had to learn the hard way

prepare for lots of follow up contact too, and not just from RE !

I always find if you get there early there is not usually a wait. If you go at lunch time you can be stuck in there for hours.

Thanks. It wasn't a wait to get served - it literally took the person over an hour to type in the info and get a quote! Not sure if this is normal or not, but I'm pretty sure I could have booked it all myself online in less than half the time! Not sure whether to cancel the GR one tomorrow or not now.

I did two of these on Tuesday for GR, the first one I had to wait 30 mins and was not seen so left, the second one I got a quote and was there about 45 mins. If you allow the 10-15 mins to complete the questionnaire its not a bad rate for an hours work.

Sounds like you got the village idiot....I am usually in and out in under 30 minutes without a problem.
  • Cool, I will give the GR one a go then!

I did a GR one yesterday and was in for 1 hour 40 minutes - think I got the new girl but it was painful! I won't be in a rush to do it again!! Just about to do the report now-hope it's easier than the visit!!
  • I did the GR one on Tuesday. It took 10 minutes to be served and 20 minutes to do the enquiry. Not bad. I have found that its quickest to answer the questions directly. So if you are looking to go away in April I will usually say that I was thinking of April 15th but can be flexible (the date I say is always a weekend as this is when flights are more likely). MOS then checks that date first rather than trying different ones.

  • Used to work in travel - it definitely should not take that long!

Haven't had any of the jobs come up for me - although I'd like one - so not sure of the brief but perhaps use details that'll work for you so you'll find out potential holidays for yourself so it's more useful time. And as DA1 said, provide them with confident firm details but also be flexible, if you are certain of what you want (while letting them suggest things), they won't try to upsell you everything in the book and keep you there for ages. Or alternatively, just accept everything and make quick decisions!
