Never seen them on Helion which is why I asked.

    Odd that.

Oh really? That's strange... not even if you look across the whole country? Drop Raya a line and see what she says.

Finally completed one of the calls. I've done about 5 of these now and two visits in person, the salespeople are obviously trained to be persistent in getting you to book that day ('This promotion is only guaranteed today! We only have 2 units at this size left!') and also in taking your contact details ('I can give you a ring back with any special offers! You can cancel the booking at any time, it's free!') - they all do their job very well but I've complained before about how persistent they are... as a customer I find that much pressure really off-putting. Especially as they don't overcome your objections once, it's often twice or three times and it gets a bit frustrating when you are continually saying no, if I was more confrontational I might have snapped after one of these calls!

I will do, it might just be one of those things.

Then again, maybe I don't want to deal with these kinds of sales people :S

I thought if you got through to a different branch you were meant to make your excuses and leave it before trying again to make sure you speak to the right branch. Or is that what you meant you did anyway!?!

Been a while since I did one though, but I do like them, they are simple little jobs :)

It used to be like that, but they changed it so on third attempt you deal with whichever site you end up redirected to.

Ha... they're polite, just persistent. I bet with a strong firm NO THANK YOU they would back off. I'm too polite as I know they're only doing their job.

But still... no means no! I don't want to give you my number so you can ring me in 2 days and try to persuade me again to take out your storage unit..

That said, from doing these shops, I would definitely make a beeline for this company if/when I actually need self storage from what I've found out. They have some good offers and they seem well organised.

Does anyone else find a good MS experience actually serves to promote the brand for themselves as well and they end up going there more?

I mainly find the opposit to be the norm I have found lists of places I would never shop
  • Aaargh, made my first mistake yesterday and missed an instruction about a minimum spend in a specific area, so probably won't get paid. At least it was in a shop where I was buying stuff I needed anyway, I suppose. Can't believe I missed something so obvious though! Grrrr.

I suppose it's not too bad, after about 30 jobs. Has everyone else done something daft like this at some point? (please, someone lie and tell me it happens all the time, so I don't feel quite such an idiot :D)
  • Boo! Just had an Italian brothers restaurant job cancelled.

Yeah! It happens all the time.

I've overspent on a supermarket job but never heard anything about it and got paid OK.
The worst that can happen I think is forgetting to take a required picture on a job you've gone out of your way for or, as once hapened to me, losing the receipt on the way home.
I had to reshedule the shop and go back and do it all again because the original guy was on his day off.

Guarantee we have all had those days. Getting home all snug and warm to write my report then remembering I didn't take the photo. so back in the car for another 20 mile round trip.

Put my betting slip in the wash before I uploaded it.

You have to make mistakes to make you more thorough and efficient!

I've found both, thing is though, many of the places I get the best service are the places I'd go online and get the product for like half the price.

I think everyone on the board can relate to this. I know I've done it at least twice, 2 different clients thankfully.
