    Excuse me while I vent....

    RE proofreaders....GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

'Tell us about the feeling in the shop. This does not refer to a greeting. This question is NOT about lighting or the structure and layout of the shop, so please do not let those factors influence your rating'.

One of the answers is 'friendly and welcoming'... but I can't talk about greetings or the members of staff apparently. So the shop itself is very friendly and welcoming, it pulled me in off the street, pulled out a chair and offered me an overpriced sandwich and weak coffee.

'If you have not selected the most positive option, please include your thoughts on how the location could improve'.... give me strength!
  • Hi This is Ernst Aben here.. hopefully to clear up matters between Helion and Bare connections.

I was the founder and Managing Director of Bare Europe. I left Bare a few years ago and set up Helion with a partner called Thomas Schimmel, who also worked for Bare in a previous life.

So besides we and some other Helion employees have a Bare history there is no other connection whatsoever. Hope this clear things feel free to email me at eaben@helionresearch.com

For those that are interested Max left Helion to run a pub in Lewes, ( the landsdown, go and pay him a visit ) although we miss him all here at Helion , we trust he will be back soon since Belgium beer is still better ;)
So, Ernst, any chance you could pop back to Bare for a while and sort them out? I seem to remember it used to be excellent!

Is this the posh sandwiches one??? It's a nightmare! The most positive option is 'Fantastic!' ... unless there was a party going on in the shop and they were handing out free cakes and hot chocolate, I wouldn't ever describe the atmosphere as such. Do I really need to explain that?!

You've obviously not been over to visit yet - Harvey's is excellent stuff. That said, Cantillon Gueze is probably the best thing I've ever tasted.

Oh, how I wish I could MS brewery tours!

Just received this email from Bare......looks like the money's on it's way!!!

    Dear susie-sue:

As one of the shoppers affected by our payment delay in November, you should have received a letter that was transmitted on November 30th explaining the situation with an invitation to contact me directly if you had questions. Many of your fellow shoppers did contact us over the past few days and while we have not been able to get back to everyone yet, we continue to work through these e-mails.

Just as promised in the letter to you, November shopper payments have been made yesterday. Depending on how you are signed up with BARE, please see below to conclude when money should be with you:
    1. If you signed up for direct bank transfer, your money was sent today (12/8/2011)
    2. If you signed up for Western Union transfers, your money was sent today (12/8/2011)
    3. If you signed up to receive money via PayPal, your money will be transferred on Monday (12/12/2011)

We apologize for this unfortunate delay. - The mystery shopping industry is a €2 billion industry globally of which BARE holds a significant and growing share. BARE has no intentions of ceasing business activity and just this year opened offices in Budapest and Singapore to widen its geographical footprint. All of that is public record readily available and I hope that you will continue to be a valued mystery shopper and part of BARE’s shopper database that is today over 600,000 strong globally.

Thank you for your services and our sincere apologies for the payment delay and the shortfall in communication. -- With kind regards,

    Jason Bare

Well, that's the first time I've seen Western Union mentioned by a Mystery Shopping agency other than the 'scam' emails. Not 100% sure its that clever including it in a 'generic' email where they're trying to reassure shoppers how reputable they are!

(Other than targeting it to the shoppers in areas where WU may be the norm of course)
  • Well I'm affected by the Bare payments and nobody has had the decency to email me!
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!
