  • That's what I was told by my bank, but I don't have paper statements anymore as I check things online, so they wrote it down for me.

I'm with HSBC and scoured the whole of my online banking, couldn't find it, have been paperless for ages. I can get the payments for free with paypal, the difference in exchange rate for a £20 payment is going to be negligible and have no idea what the bank number is to change it... *effort

  • Fr the fuel ones you have to visit 2 garages, one is a competitor. It shows two addresses on the details when you click on it and the fee is 50% more.

So is the fee all you get for them or is there reimbursement on top?

I don't do the garage ones when you buy food. I do not want the drink (the garages are right by home), they never remind you about the "offer", the reports are horrid and I worked out I made about £2.00!
No Matter what you do there will be critics.

Exactly the reason I only ever did one!. I am not even sure the petrol ones are worth it, 2 visits for that fee, with the horrid reports seems very poor to me. Think I will stay away from them which will make some people happy:)

I've done a few fuel ones recently - they were all quite nearby and more than one of them had the same competitor so only needed to visit it once for two jobs iyswim. Reports aren't so bad - better than an AA one asking you to comment on how you felt every step of the way!
  • Hi Everyone.
Its the first time I have posted on this thread so I hope you will forgive me if I waffle or am asking a daft question.
I have only recently started Mystery Shopping, I got the idea from here! I have managed to do 4 visits and up to now have had my reports accepted ok, but the nerves before the visit do not seem to be getting any better. I am just wondering if this is unusual? I could certainly do with the extra cash, but if everyone else sails through the visits without getting palpitations maybe I am just not cut out for it..
I would really like to hear your thoughts. Upto now I have recorded the visits on my phone and used that to help my frazzled brain, but even though I know I have this backup I am still getting very anxious.
If anyone is interested I have just released two visits today in Cleveland due to flu, so it might be worth checking a certain website that likes to know if folk wear glasses.

What is it that makes you nervous?

I get a little bit nervous before doing a type of visit I haven't done before but remind myself that I am quite capable and that I have done my preparation and I am good at recording what I have done. And so far I am doing all right :)

I am in general a bit nervous of approaching members of staff but find that the more I do it due to MS, the better I am at doing it in my everyday life as well. Which is a good thing.
  • I worry that I will forget a key part of the scenario or stand out like a sore thumb. I can see that when this is written down it looks pretty silly. Were you nervous at first?
