I do not feel comfortable doing those jobs, I find they tend to be located in, shall we say, more characterful parts of towns and I'm afraid I'm going to have the materials taken from me.

yes one was in one of, in not the worst parts of the city, where I went to a very good grammar school but the area is really rough (had a police officer shot outside the school before and is home to one of the citys main gangs), I managed an increased fee for that one as no one else would do it, I called it my danger money ... was first and last time ive been back there since i left ;)

Oh pooh. Coming down with flu or something and I'm burning up. I did have some visits for REACT and RM to do in Manchester on Thursday/Friday this week. I don't want to let them down but I have a feeling I will probably just fall over the assistant. Do you think they will be OK at me cancelling at such short notice? Shall I just call up tomorrow? Advice please.
  • Wow wish I lived in Jersey, big premiums on gap burgers!

Also premiums in lots of other places if you guys haven't seen already :)

I'd say it's their tough luck as much as it is yours - depending on how ill you are, would they really want you to go and do the job when you might not be able to focus and do what you're supposed to do properly?* Most companies are quite keen to avoid reshops!

If any nice Mancunians are reading this and are available (not me I'm afraid - delightful but down south :D), perhaps you could ask React and RM to reassign the job to them? Being able to provide a replacement would almost certainly keep you in their good books.

*Well, any decent companies at least! I was once pressured to complete a merchandising job when I was faint and dizzy, but I'd really like to think React and RM are better than that...

It's the super posh handbag shop. They look down at customers anyway. Imagine me going in and sneezing and looking dizzy. Probably would get security to get rid of me!

My health is important. So will just have to cancel and say I would prefer if you find a replacement because if I get an extension I might still be unwell and don't want to let them down. Sorted.
  • Good decision mate :)

Don't kmow but if you do I'll be happy to pick them up :)
Doing one on Friday in Manc for REACT anyway and one in Stockport for RM. Bit thin on the ground this week so just cancel them and get well soon.

Heehee I did that in the last wave and completely over engineered my cover story and got tied up in knots with the assistant.
Spent about 10 minutes trying to close down the whole scenario so i could escape.
I must've got something right though because I got 10/10 for the report.:T

Thanks for the advice peeps. I've never had to cancel in the past. Thanks to HeavensDevil for the top idea of asking on here and to Trevor64 too for saying he is interested in one of the visits.

Isn't everyone on here lovely. Will someone please bring some Vicks and some Lemsip as you are all being really nice :-)
