Not wishing to start a debate about tax, but I've just been alerted to this section about deductions for working at home. Apparently there's a flat rate (unless you've taken out internet specifically for MS etc), might be useful as I don't think I read this figure on the OP:

When you can get tax relief for household expenses

If you have to work at or from home you can get tax relief for the extra household expenses that you have to pay. Typically these extra expenses include:
    • the extra cost of gas and electricity to heat and light your work area
    • business telephone calls
You won't be able to get relief on domestic expenses that you're paying anyway - like your mortgage or council tax. You also won't be able to get relief for expenses that relate to both business and private use - such as your telephone line rental, or Internet access.

How much relief you can get

    You can get either:
    • A flat rate deduction of £3.00 per week (from 2008-09) for each week that you've got to work at home. This doesn't include the cost of business telephone calls.
    • A larger amount if your extra expenses are higher than £3.00 - but you'll have to show how you've calculated the figure.

Mimi said fat reimbursement, not fee.

Well done Lil_Me, you attentive thing you :p:p:p

I would quite happily do these if I was flying out from the said airports. It's a big reimbursement and the products do sound quite glamorous too. I also find REACT reports really easy to do.

Note to ESA. !!!!!!, if you are going to leave me an answer phone message every couple of hours to say there is a visit in my area, try and say what company the f***ing visit is for. It's no good saying "We have open opportunities in your area". Errrr! Also, does anyone else think they have a male version of the "Computer Says No.... COUGH" woman from Little Britain at ESA. When I did pick up last week, I asked for mileage. Seriously sounded like he said "computer says no". MEGALOLS.

That drives me mad as well! I don't bother ringing back if they don't leave a location or details :o

Quiet week for me this week, which is good as I've torn the plantar ligament in my foot so I'm limping :o
Here I go again on my own....

The last job I did for them was paid within 6 weeks, but if you don't expect payment for at least 2 months you'll be fine. At least there's no outlay with the jewellery jobs...

Quickly losing the will to live! Has anyone done the car job for TNS? I've filled in the questionnaire as far as I can after visit 1 and I was reading the guidelines (how many different places are the guidelines? I have about 6 screens open ) Anyway, as I was trawling them all trying to find out whet I do when I get to question whatever it is for the end of the first visit, my session timed out and I can't log in again!!! I hope it's saved my answers. Do you have to submit it or just save and submit after visit 2? Kinda wish I'd just asked on here rather than try to find out for myself - you're all a mine of information!

I was expecting ESA money today, do you think it is delayed due to the late raising of the invoices?
No Matter what you do there will be critics.

Am pretty sure they pay on the 10th, so I'm expecting to get paid tomorrow :)
