Locked or unlocked?

Is it possible to tell from looking at your phone whether it is locked or unlocked?

Going abroad & lookign to get local sim card if possible.

just borrow a sim card (on a diff network that your own) from someone and try it in your phone, if it doesn't work, your phone is locked.

Had thought of that, but thought there must be a more scientific way. Sometimes I do try to overcomplicate things :rotfl:

Hi, does the phone have any network logo's on the casing or when you switch on does the network splash screen appear for a few seconds, if not it's probably unlocked.
