Technically theft.
Of course it is!
Where, otherwise, do you draw the line? The tiny bars of soap? The sachets of shampoo and shower gel? Or perhaps the towels...or the bathrobes...the electric Kettle or all the bed linen?
Come on, you might try and justify your dishonesty by telling yourself that it is "included in the price of the room", but there is no justification because... TECHNICALLY it is THEFT. Simple as.0 -

SureI pm'ed it to little acorn to keep thread on track but since more are asking, it's
1/2 cup aloe vera gel
1/8 cup glycerin.
Stick it in a glass jar, shake to mix and use as you would a regular moisturiser.
This is not my recipe btw, I got it from better basics for the home
I have been known to use aloe concentrate and mix with rose water. Still works as well.Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

UnluckyT, Juliamarsh and stickgal, and anyone else who believes that envelopes are 'postage paid' or 'prepaid', - they are only pre printed with the address and whether 1st or 2nd class of postage will be paid if posted to the address and unique postcode printed on it. The postcode is different to the normal one for an address and is used for counting how many envelopes to charge for. If one is overwritten and sent to another address the receipient will be charged as if you have put no postage on it at all - over £1.
I know this is a common misconception but do you think a company would actually pay for the postage on hundreds of envelopes for a mailshot that have a high chance of being binned?
I use many of the above ideas, with no embarrassment, but unfortunately this one doesn't work I'm afraid.
Edited to say, Juliamarsh, I've just read your additional email.0 -

Soap, toilet roll, tea, etc are 'consumable' items; there to be consumed and included in the cost of the room. Kettles are not.
P.S. If the above were not true I'd be a tea-leaf tea-leaf.0 -
I get away with using only one tea bag when making a pot of tea by following a few simple rules.
1 Never put anything cold into the teapot only the tea bag
2 Pour boiling water into the pot and carefully swill it round until the whole pot is hot then tip the water away
3 Put the teabag into the teapot while pot is still hot followed by boiling water and replace teapot lid quickly
4 Carefully insert spoon into top of kettle for a few seconds to warm it then remove and press the teabag against the inside of the teapot using the hot spoon
5 Remove spoon and fit cosy (if you have one)
6 Leave to mash for a few minutes and serve up
My wife uses 2-3 tea bags to get the same result but never warms anything so my way saves on teabags.
You do have to be careful not to burn or scald yourself at any stage but i have used this method for years and never come to grief. Following this procedure may seem petty to some.I even poor more boiling water in the pot after 2 cups have been poured and still get good cups of tea. I suppose it could depend on the brand of tea used but i don't think i am allowed to give my preference. Probably not ok for those who like their tea as strong as a donkey's hind leg.0 -
Well I find a teabag will comfortably make me two mugs -and I like it reasonabe strong.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

Not how the Malmiason chain see it- the shampoo, etc in their bathroom says "take me home" (or similar) on it0 -

Probably not ok for those who like their tea as strong as a donkey's hind leg.I was always brought up to make tea like this, too. Pot-warming is considered to be the proper way.
I use a small teaspot that takes 1 pint of water (equivalent to 1 and 3/4 good sized mugs) and this does very nicely for me in a single sitting with just one teabag.I do get grief from my Mum about lid to said teapot; broken several years ago and glued together. I'm hoping to find a stray lid at a bootfair or c.s. which will fit it but it's holding up just fine.:o
