Oh no! :rotfl: yours too?! Lmao! :rotfl:
Use leeks up by mixing with mash on the top of cottage pie or mixed with bacon and pasta with cheese sauce poured over and baked for half an hour? I can't do either of those as my kids won't eat leeksI miss eating leeks

Nice ideas cazzie..:D unfortunately I am out of vegan bacon and cheese so can't do the pasta thing.....however, I have some tvp in the cupboard to may well make a cottage pie this week with the leek and potato topping.....nomnom!!
I am off to the shop in a minute.....:o i have quite a few limes and lemons left in the bowl, so am going to get some fizzy water to use up the limes(love fizzy water with limes in!! and have decided that if I am going to be healthy, I need to get myself something to replace the alcohol :rotfl:) ...... I also need to get some garlic and then make a moroccan potato and lemon dish to use the lemons.... absolutely love this and i use the stock as a soup, so two meals from one!!:TMortgage 12.12.12 £55842 12.12.13 £42716 14.12.14 £28837 13.12.15 £25913

Hiya
Just dropping by to see how you're getting on -did you get your January statement or is it too early? Howz the lack of ciggies??
I've just had a squiz on my mortgage statement online and my December normal payment is now showing and I'm under £25k (£24848)for the first time ever :j:T. I'm also able to (at a big push) save £500 op this month so will be posting that on MFW at the end of the week :T
My food/drink challenge is going fine at the moment as well...2 days of the "official" challenge. I feel much more in control with no choc in house at all. No more sneaky snacksLong may this continue.
Back at work for the first day today. The phone was ringing before I even took my coat off (& I get to work half an hour before I start iyswim). Shattered now, and this wind (outside, not me for a change :rotfl:) makes me feel chewed up and spat out.
Sweet dreams
xx
P.S. I've also managed to arrange a car share for tomorrow, so one less 40 mile round trip. Hope to be able to do this most weeks and the savings on the diesel will be added to the op savings. Yay!0 -

My mortgage statement doesn't get here until the end of the month, so won't know until then seems like a lifetime away!!!:(
Excellent news on the car share too....:T
I know what you mean about work.....have spent the entire week feeling like I can't remember what my job is..... hols are nice, but its taking me a much longer time to get back into it these days....
Still no ciggies....however, dh is getting to the point where he thinks I should start again as I am such a miserable t**t at the moment.... lack of chemical enhancement does nothing for my mood!!:rotfl:

Hang on in there. You're doing very well. Keep thinking about your bank balance and body - so much healthier, both of them! :T
I'm doing ok on my part of the challenge - walked 6 miles today to offset the hm bread. Struggling tonight, though. Not chocolate, once I stop eating that I never really give it a thought. No for me it's the habitual drink. Weekends = alcohol. Not a lot of alcohol but even so, am determined to break the habit, and ultimately save money and give my body a break by losing weight. I can do it, I can! I'm pretty much past the danger time now - from 5pm to 8pm :T. Keep breathing! In and Out....In and Out....:D
Hopefully, going to do even better on the car sharing than I expected as we're trying to share 4 days a week, so both of us will drive 3 days out of 5. May not manage this every week, but to save 80 miles of diesel a week will be fabulous! I'm hoping that might equate to around £40-£50 a month...and guess where that saving will be going.:rotfl:
I'm feeling really quite positive at the moment. Trick is to keep it all going
We can do it!

Have to fess up....I have had a bit of a wobble this week....bit of bad news (nothing too serious, just really emotional for me!!)....sent me back into stupid mode.. However, back on the wagon and accept it as a hiccup in the journey, not a 'back to square one' moment.....

I know this feeling so well.....:o Friday night is beer night (any alcohol will do!!) and getting out of that mindset is very difficult.....I do struggle with thinking of the things I could substitute as non-toxic, mse 'treats'..... I will spend some time trying to write a list of them, tear them up, put them in a jar and pull one out as a 'surprise' treat when I feel I need one!!:rotfl:
I have paid £115 into the OP fund this week :j....I still have a couple of deposits to make next week and then that will probably be it for the month.... I am getting really desperate to see my statement now....:D It will help to keep me motivated - I have found it hard the past week, I think that I need to put an hour of my day aside to get onto these boards and try to keep up with the threads, keep the goals in the forefront of my mind and not let anything get in the way of that hour....one of my 'treats' perhaps!!!:rotfl:
I am doing pretty well other than my slight blip.....I think that it has been difficult as I have spent almost thirty five years with some sort of chemical stimulant/depressant or another in my system.....giving up smoking and alcohol at the same time has caused quite a shock to my chemical balance and did really take a while to get over - I am through the worst now....I feel pretty happy that I have stopped, I don't want a repeat of the trauma I have felt over the past couple of weeks and I really don't miss having to stand outside in the wind several times a day!!;)
Anyhoo...excuse the rambling....brain is a bit mushy at the moment, so it may not make any sense to anyone but me!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Mortgage 12.12.12 £55842 12.12.13 £42716 14.12.14 £28837 13.12.15 £25913

Sorry to hear you've had trauma! Hope all is ok, though. I did wonder where you'd gone...
Don't worry about your blip. The bigger picture of being more healthy is more important.
I've decided to allow myself a very small treat on a Saturday night - last night, I had a small glass of wine. Enjoyed it greatly. Actually could taste it, iykwim, and really appreciated it as I hadn't had a drink for a couple of weeks. It was just habit before. Now it's because I'd like to enjoy a drink. The trick is to keep it small....
Well done on your OPs this month. Fantastic result :T
I'm still hanging in on my grocery challenge...£16 to last 2 weeks (!) and I've just arranged this week's car shares ...and I have a small payrise, so despite my sale shopping earlier this month (that seems YONKS ago!), I'm hoping to have a healthy op at the beginning of next month...am hoping for £600 and may have more later in Feb if my electrickery bill is less than the £200 I've set aside for it... god help me if it's more! I won't be happy to have inroads made on my op! :rotfl:
Can't wait for the end of the month now
Have a great week. Take care

Well, its payday today and although I try to run my general expenses (food, petrol, persie spends etc) from the beginning to end of the month, I have been running this one since 23rd December and its starting to get tight:eek: I am doing pretty well on the food front...I now have about £18 to last until the 1st Feb and the car is full of fuel, so I should be able to manage
;)
I am doing pretty impressively on the OP front, another £681 towards January OP - total to date of £1988.08 - and I may be able to make a final one before the end of the month....:j Although we have done really well this month, we could have done better - next month we won't have the overtime etc so it will be a much smaller OP but we will work harder to make sure we maximise our potential :A
I am doing better now regarding the giving everything up....I have spent a long time thinking about why I am really doing this, about making myself happier and how this is the best way to move that goal forward.....I am really intent on clearing this mortgage and gaining that financial freedom that I have never had the pleasure of experiencing as an adult.....despite the wobbles (which I know was just a knee-jerk reaction to becoming chemical free) I am pretty confident that in the next three years, I will have no mortgage and will have a disposable income level which allows me to live a life I want to lead...
I have spent the morning working from home and then having the afternoon off....I have been paticularly lazy today, literally haven't done anything this afternoon and I am really enjoying itWe are having sweet potato enchiladas for dinner tonight, so I will make those shortly, then have a long hot shower and an early night....very mse

Woohoo that is most definitely an impressive OP ~ well done!! :T
The thought of being mortgage free in 3 years must be a great incentive for you ~ I'm still aiming for 5 years, which is half my current term. Can't wait for payday next week so that I can make an OP ~ January has been such a long month hasn't it.
Well done on giving up the ciggies ~ good for wealth & healthDo you feel better for it??
Your sweet potato enchiladas sound lush btw  Infact your meals always sound gorgeous, puts my chilli & baked spud dinner to shame!! :rotfl:'A watched potato will never chit'...0
