USB cable for motorola v3 is it 'special'?

Hi there
I am currently trying to configure my razr v3 with my pc
I have borrowed a phone tools cd v3.1 lite and upgraded online to v3.23
the phone seems to charge from the pc ok using the lead that came with my tom tom one regional but i get a 'mobile not connected' icon on the virtual mobile on my pc screen and "initialising....." but then nothing is active or available
I have loaded the v3 driver from the cd and the phone is plugged in and switched on . is the lead at fault . is there a 'special' for this application

Don't know about the v3 but other mortorolas (PEBL) used a standard USB lead iirc.
Check the motorola site for the latest USB drivers

i used the same cable that i use for my psp in my dads V220 and it works fine

are you plugging the lead into the back of the computer first?

(the reason i say connect it to the back of the computer as front usb ports can be classed as hubs and some devices dont like usb hubs)

Not sure if I can help, but there is a setting on the phone, which allows the memory card to be accessed when connected - otherwise the storage device isn't seen by the PC, etc.

If you have tried this, then ok - otherwise I'll have a look at my V3 and see if I can remember which menu you need. I think it was in tools/connections?
