I doubt they would be sanc'd. It was their fault they lost the job but they didn't leave it voluntarily

Being sacked can in some cases be classed as making yourself intentionally unemployed.

they told me this is possible but is rare. They investigated my claim but kept paying me jobseekrs during it. I was awarded jobseekers after.

He might not of intentionally lost his licence though. Just saying

I would think the reason for losing license may make a difference. Obviously if a person is deemed unfit to drive due to an illness or condition then they must have some rights under the disability Act if that means they can no longer do their existing job.

A bit different perhaps if a person loses their license through speeding or drink driving and therefore cannot fulfil the requirements of their current work role.

You dont always loose your licence with points, a good solicitor can argue for points to be added and an automatic ban avoided especially if it means a job will be lost.
Some have over 20 points and still drive.

I would think if you loose your licence and therefore your job due to getting points for drink driving then yes you could be sanctioned. If it's a medical reason then I would certainly hope not.

Yeah, if driving is a requirement of the job then to lose your license through your own actions is misconduct

I'd agree with the majority here, if you are banned for the likes of drink driving/speeding it's possible to be sanctioned. If it's a medical reason I can't see how they could impose a sanction
