  • Yep, sorry, my mistake.

I always thought DaVinci could do pretty much anything.

Probably won't be too long before it will come down in price tho, once the other teams out there start working out how to do it

    For me:
K800i Free on Orange Dolphin £19pm start your order at quidco.com to get £25 cash back
    Over 12 months £228 - 50 mins 75 texts
    Over 18 months £342 - 75 mins 225 texts a month

    For my wife:
Existing Phone on with a new FREE Orange Pay As You Go Sim Card. Plus ported the number across from O2 Pay As You Go.
£10 top up buys 300 texts and 1MB of web surfing
£20 top up buys 600 texts and 1MB of web surfing
£30 top up buys 1000 texts and 1MB of web surfing

And the main reason you'll want Orange:
Added Pay as You go to 'Your Group' which means we get 3,000 minutes of free calls to each other. All I have is an automatic top up of £10 a month, which gives her 300 text messages. You can add further phones to your group, but you will be footing the bill (so you could add the whole family)

    All about 'Your Group'
    http://www1.orange.co.uk/service_plans/paymonthly/your_group_overview.html
Your Group Terms & Conditions (mentioning 3,000 minute limit): http://www1.orange.co.uk/service_plans/paymonthly/your_group_terms.html

Just about to move my wife's mother across to Orange Pay As You Go as, even though she will not be in 'Your Group', she will still get 600 minutes of off-peak calls to my wife's phone (or any other Orange mobile).

    So to summarise:
    • Free K800i
    • Cheapest line rental (not nasty limited deal then price shoots up)
    • 12 month contract (so you can renegotiate sooner for a free upgrade and not be stuck until June 2008)
    • Free calls between phones on the same account - even Pay As You Go!
    • 600 minutes of free calls to any Orange mobile

    thanks for the info hambrook

what do you think of this deal
    http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/offer/700VTT212/
    K800i with 400 mins - £35 for 12mths contract & 6mths half-price.
And 3mths of that will be deducted by network so its guaranteed.
Add £50 cashback from quidco and the total comes out to £265.
Now thats cheap, don't you think?

BTW, I have asked Vodafone for my PAC and today I got a call from someone claiming to be from Vodafone "Retention" department and told me they can offer me
    K800i with 300 mins - £30 for 12mths contract with 3mths half-price.
Total works out to be £315 but no hassles of claiming cashback.
can someone advise if these deals from the so-called "retention" department are genuine?

vodafone do have a retentions dept. I think all the networks do. They are the people you speak to when you ask for your pac code

Both Vodafone Pay As You Talk and Contract handsets would be locked when you buy them. After 12 months it's free to unlock, any time before 12 months on both Pay As You Talk and Contract it's £19.99 to obtain a network unlock code. If contract this is debited from the account, if Pay As You Talk then £19.99 needs to exist on the SIM card as calling credit when making the request.

    Hope this helps.

That's not a bad deal, comes down to how you are going to use the handset. For us having 2 phones with 3,000 minutes of free calls between my wife and I (Orange Your Group), and 600 mins of free off-peak calls (even on pay as you go) to orange phones (her mum!) and 75 mins of any time, any network mins made us choose orange.

The downside of Orange Dolphin £19 is that you don't get any data allowance for mobile web. OK it is FREE for 2 months off peak but after that you have to buy a bundle:
    Orange World Access
Mbs per month cost per month
    none £0.00
    4 £4.00
Unlimited Evening & Weekend Browsing £5.00
    10 £8.00
    25 £16.00
    80 £41.13
    400 £52.88
    Orange World Access Max £88.13

Plus three seems to still be getting mixed end user feedback both from customer service and coverage.
