my friend who also bought the book made a lining for her bag out of some gingham. it honestly looks like it came from the kidston shop online.0 -

Thanks OP. I bought one for a friend for Christmas and had to physically restrain myself from buying a copy for myself.0

Perfect for my Mam at Christmas. Thanks OP
The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
I have had this book for a while, and I would really recommend it. The projects in it a fairly simple, easy for beginners. Simple stuff like table mats & coasters or tote bags, ranging to slightly more complex projects, but honestly not anything over challenging.
I love the pictures of all the projects made up in beautiful CK prints, and I find the instructions easy to follow, but I am a fairly confident sewer.
The bag pieces come ready cut to make one of the bags, there is no way anyone could not have enough fabric (unless there was a full piece missing?). The bag would make a nice starter project for someone easing themselves back into sewing.
I'd certainly recommend it. In fact I want to buy myself another copy, but that would be silly and just not MSE!0 -
Thanks. Just ordered one as a present. Think I'll put it straight under the bed and not open it when it arrives in case I'm tempted to keep it for myself!0

I know this is useless as a present ... but the Martha Stewart site has some great craft ideas with free patterns and templates to dowload. You can (and I have) spend many hours just browsing.:)0
