Screw them offering compensation, demand it.

Write a letter as a formal letter stating the problems you've had since which date. In the letter state how many phonecalls and visits to the branch you have made (preferably when as well). Then suggest that they pay you for losses incurred in this problem (around £10 a telephone call and £20 a branch visit, although O4U is better at this than me!) and to get the problem sorted.

Wait for their reply, then if you are not satisfied, after 8 weeks you can complain to the FOS.

...that's if you get a reply. Although I did get 3 separate compensation cheques from Halifax earlier this year, I didn't once receive an actual reply.

I missed transferring 1k to my account on one month... Having read through the T&C for the savings reward, it seems to say reward interest will be paid for the months 1k is credited.... hopefully I still get 11 months of reward interest rather than losing them all...

I don`t want to start a new thread, just a quickie that can be answered on this one.

Last April I took out a Websaver Reward at 2.8% (.2% extra later), has anyone got a link for the T&C for this account which is now withdrawn?

Am I correct that it`s unlimited withdrawals?

    It's unlimited withdrawals.

The T&Cs mention keeping £1 in at all times, although I'm not sure they'd enforce a drop in rate if you breached them. But to be sure, leave £1 in at all times.

    If you go here -
    http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/interest-rates/personal-rates/previous/#wsr

and click on Halifax Web Saver Reward

    it says the following -

    From 01 April 2011 - 30 April 2011

    AER
    Gross pa
    Net pa
    £1+
    2.80%
    2.80%
    2.24%
    Minimum balance - £1
Withdrawals - Unlimited withdrawals within the 12 month reward period.
Reward conditions - Only 1 Web Saver Reward per customer (sole or joint).

Out of interest, the May version seems to have identical terms and conditions.
