Will I lose my email address?

in Broadband & internet access
My current email address is a btinternet.com email address. I originally got this email address as my parents had bt broadband. They’ve recently switched their broadband over to sky.

Does anyone know if I’ll lose access to my btinternet.com email address as they’re now with Sky?

Not sure whether once you have the email address you essentially have it for life or whether it’s linked to your broadband account.

    No, you will not be able to send BT email from a Sky broadband account.
    Just sign up for a Gmail account, takes a few minutes
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    you wont lose your btinternet name you can still use it just got to btyahoo .com to sign in

    You can access it by webmail, yes, but it won't send from a desktop email program on a PC using a Sky broadband connection.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    If its of any consolation, Sky email addresses xxxxx@sky.com are for life.
    Its an OEM version of Gmail.
    That gum you like is coming back in style.
