Video plays on my phone, but no picture
I've just got a new Samsung X820 phone, and have copied an mp4 video file to it. I can play the video and hear the sound, but there's no picture!
I've linked the phone to my PC with bluetooth, played the video on my PC, and I see the picture. So I know the file itself is okay.
I guess this is something to do with codecs, but is there any way to work out which codec I need and either put the it on the phone or somehow combine the existing file and the required codec to create a new file that will play properly?

The video format should be 3GP what format of video did you transfer0

Thanks for your reply, lee634.
It was an MP4 file... I've checked Wikipedia and the 3GP files are "simplified" MP4 files. I seem to remember reading that MP4 files are supported by my phone, though the manual doesn't specify ANYWHERE which video file format it uses.
I've also tried a few different media players on my PC - with some I get the sound AND image, others just the sound.
Is there any kind of converter that can create an MP4 or 3GP file with the right codec embedded in the file (if that's what I need to do?)0 -
Ha! Don't worry - I've found a program that converts video files to various formats for portable devices and converted it to the 3GP format you suggested. It worked first time, so thanks for the suggestion!
In case anyone else is having the same problem, here's the link to the converter:
