London scottish ppi

hi all,

I'm a newbie and wondering if there is anyone out there that can advise me.

Over 6 years ago I took a loan out with London Scottish Finance, due to a change in circumstances I defaulted with this loan and was sent to a debt collection agency, Robinson Way. I am slowly but surely getting this debt down though would like the chance to see if I could claim back the ppi.

I no longer have my paperwork so at the beginning of August I requested a copy of the original t&c's, after several conversations with them I was told this morning that neither them or London Scottish can send this out as they no longer have them. I find this strange as the account is still active and have another year of paying them before the account is settled.

Have I hit a brick wall or is there anything else I can do?

Cheers

although it is no longer with London Scottish based on what you say.

Why do you need the t&c? You dont need it to make a complaint.

  • No the account has been passed over to Robinson Way but when requesting a copy of my agreement from them they said that they would have to contact London Scottish for this as that's who I had my agreement with.

I don't know who I can complain to and what details are required.

    Hi

I understand the financial compensation scheme (FSCS) have this business listed with them, as they are in default, so you can make a reclaim with the FSCS.

So basically if you were mis sold the PPI, and the loan was taken out from Jan 2005, contact the FSCS, details below, who will arrange to send you out a claim form.
For any copies of evidence, you can send copies of the actual lenders paperwork.

contact details top of page on link above, good luck.

I have loans with PPI through London Scottish prior to 2005 - can I claim these back? I have the Pinnacle Insurance forms - should I go through Pinnacle?

You send your complaint to the person that sold the PPI.

So back to my question then.. Can i claim them as they were pre-2005?

All the PPI forms were prefilled in as"Gold" PPI. London Scottish are now in administration and FSCS I am led to believe only deal with loans post 2005.

FSCS can't help and there is no one left to complain to. Sorry.

Well thats a bit rubbish, whats the point of having loads of adverts saying PPI was missold. My documents had the ppi section was already marked.

Are you sure theres nothing else I can do?

Plenty of firms who sold PPI are still trading, unfortunately for you, yours is not.
