Getting through to orange...

For the last two days I have been trying to get through to orange. I need to pay my final bill (my phone has now been disconnected). I have been on hold for ages, both trying the free-numbers given on saynoto0870 and the numbers orange provide. I did get through to a person in sales, but they said they couldn't help me and after much insistence that I couldn't get through to anyone else, said they'd transfer me... surprise surprise I got cut off.
I have had so many problems with orange, from them putting someone else's phone on to my account, to the internet services never working. Now when I registered my my PAYG sim, I didn't get the text messages and the phone was constantly "searching". 5 days after the original registration, and numerous calls and visits to the orange shop it turned out the guy took the sim card number one digit wrong.
God I hate orange, and there stupid hold messages...
I've gone off the point... are there any tips of actually getting through to someone to talk to? I just want to pay the bill so that my only contact with orange is calling 453 to get my balance. I can't even use the automated service because it no longer recognizes the number as an orange pay monthly number. God this makes me sooo mad.
I have officially been on hold for 30 minutes... the free number of course.

Helloo.. I had (many times) struggled to get through to Orange.. and I hate how the automated message says, *We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls*.. funny that? because whether Ive called at midnight 6am 4am or 1am.. it ALWAYS says that.. grrrr...
The only way I managed to get hold of them in the end was to email them from their website.. When I was reeeeeally annoyed and frustrated.. It was a furious email. Funnily enough they called me first thing the next morning.
Oranges customer phone service is one of the VERY worst (in my opinion)Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

Yup.
I tend to leave my mobile, on loudspeaker, ringing Orange CS in the background whilst I get on and do something else - write an essay, cook, or whatever.
In the slim chance someone picks up in the first 2 hours, I'm laughing. And I've done something productive.0 -

ring the line for signing up to broadband or joining orange and just ask to be put through and your sick of holding. worked for me.
If you ring the line normally i could be holding for like 2 hours at times to get through to the wrong person anyway who couldnt help. ring a number where they think they have a sale on their hands and the phone hardly gets chance to ring and just say you've tried and tried and want help.0 -
I have to agree, I put my phone on loudspeaker and get on with something else. Their CS is !!!!!! IMHO, which is a shame!0

I have found an option that works for me, perhaps it'll work for you as well? I ring Orange at 7 a.m. and usually get straight through.0
