                    Guys,
a bit stuck with this one....
does anyone have a HP vista home basic .iso or alternately a HP vista h/b volume license key I could "borrow" for a lappy I've got in.
It's a genuine HP install hence wanting to keep it legit on the new hdd (only need it coz old hdd is totally burgered so can't even extract key off it
Hanx in advance

I'll send it via PM, after I get the answers to a couple of questions from you.0

All versions of Vista are on one disc and what gets installed is determined by the product key you enter so you only need to find a Vista disc from anywhere.0

Guys, I've got an all-in-one vista installation disk, but it's one of the 'OEMAct' COA's on the base of the lappy which don't work properly with it. As you know, this key is different from the actual installed key from the factory, hence needing a HP disk. As stated above, the hdd has died totally, so not even the option of reading the installed key (which, incidentally, usually do work with my install disk:mad: )
FYI, the lappy is legit, belongs to a guy I've known and worked with for many years, so know it's not like it's been nicked or owt.
Anything else ???......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Can't you just use one of the OEM keys?

of course, but as stated they are different to the original factory install key, and the OEMAct keys do not like my all-in-one vista install disk...you can usually change the key TO that one after installation, but not actually install with it ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is...... ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

You do know that it won't work with the 'OEM' key alone, don't you?
Perhaps your all-in-one disc has some 'extras'.0

it is possible...I got it from a friendly microsoft engineer a few years ago now, and it's only the OEMAct keys it struggles with.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
