The answer to his problem:
Get Another Job!!You're Damned If You Do & You're Damned If You Don't.0 -
Right.. no way out of contract without paying charges.
Options
he can do a temp disconect for up to 6 months payment holiday wile he finds a new job this will extend his contract for however long hes disconected
sell phone and use funds to pay off contract.. or use free mins
only at month 9 1/2 way thu contract can you downgrade the talkplan.
reporting the phone stolen will just get the handset barred off all networks and will still have to do the remaning term of the contract.
if it goes full DCA theres a chance of getting a CCJ which can result in court doing attachment of earnings. so they will just take a % of his wage/ jobseekers till its paid Plus court costs. and credit rating screwed for 6 year
anyway theres the facts...0 -

Still, good to cross it off the list rather than it being lumped in a 'maybe' column... or something [desperately trying to find positive outcome]0 -

The only things he owns are his clothes !
True but they will still pusue the debt!! He will still get the hassle of people turning up at the door etc etc.. As someone has already said best thing to do is to sell the phone, get a cheap phone and use the sim card and get another job!0 -
Thanks for all the advice guys.
I'm on his case to get another job !
The good news is he passed his theory test today, so hopefully he will pass his driving test soon and be on the road.
This will make it a bit easier for him to get a decent job.
I think the advice to sell it is probably best.
However it is a bit beaten up, even thou its not very old, so may not fetch much.
He has it insured. Can you get phones refurbished under an insurance policy ?0 -

You could get a replacement if you were unfortunate enough to lose it.;) :whistle:You're Damned If You Do & You're Damned If You Don't.0
