MIL2B's Westie loves socks - she'll even take them off your feet if you let her! I've stuffed one of my odd socks with an old t-shirt cut up into strips, and then sewed up the open end (very MSE:)), and she loves throwing that around the room. Luckily I seem to have a lot of odd socks at the moment.

Just be careful with some of the cheap toys from the pound stores as some of them that are made in Asia have spray paint on them and you dont want your dog eating them, I have seen them quite a few times and it puzzles me why Trading Standards dont pull the stores up on it I can only pressume that they do not see pets in the same way as people.

What about boomer balls for those with dogs that chew all their toys up? I've got one for my Staff and he's an industrial strength chewer :rotfl:

He gets a bit annoying with it as he sort of shouts at it because he can't pick it up in his mouth, but he'll play with it for hours. He also has a nylabone which he has had for ages now.

Lucky you- the ball with sticky out bits (!st picture) looks great.
All those would be just the thing to give as raffle prizes for dog shows, doggy parties etc. (Our dog club always has a party- money collected that night goes to charity.) Tesco , a couple of days ago had cord slip leads for 62pence and not very cheap fleece blankets and a load of melamine smallish pet bowls. Judging by the shelves there HAD been other things, but the labels didn't relate to any toys
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

My dog loves those filled bones.. you know the ones which are actual bone with meat in one side which you have to lick out! They are only a couple of quid.. depending on size.. we have had ours for absolutely ages and our still loves knawing at it! Keeps him quiet when he is in a playful mood. They are usually available at garden centres, pet shops or larger supermarkets. They dog tug togs are also good.. they can do tug of war with or just chew them or throw them up in the air and catch them. Lots of fun for them. I have seen those in poundshop or cheapy shops but beware they may get destroyed easier because they are cheap! Last christmas our dog was given one as a present and it only lasted 5 minutes! :)

Well, it's nice of you to make the effort to lick it out but I think the dog might enjoy it more than you... :rotfl:

On a serious note, I would advise people to be wary with these. Cooked bones are prone to shattering so I tend to avoid them - mine get raw bones as these are much softer and safer to eat (though there are some exceptions, e.g. large weight-bearing bones like cow legs can be a bit more dense/brittle and prone to breaking into shards). Not to mention the filling is usually a mush of gunk (animal derivatives and who knows what else) and colourings. I'd rather get something like an air-dried hoof and fill it with fish pate from the supermarket, at least you know what your dog is eating that way!

silly me- I never thought of fish paste- that would work well in a kong too (as long as the lickings didn't get all over the carpet!!
