Hiya Wendy...oh that used to happen to me loads of times. Now I always copy just in case it's logged me out, then I log in again and paste. DS taught me how to do that lol
Thanks Wendy, the fire place does look better though not as good as a new one, mind you I like the pine ones with tile inserts down the sides whereas OH likes the more modern where the fire is halfway up the wall...but I'm trying to get the house looking shabby chic or I do like the american folk art look so not sure what we'll end up with. For sure it'll be a while off yet though
The weather's been quite nice today hasn't it, little ones do need their fresh air, helps them sleep at night

Hi Diz, how are things with you. I'm glad you did the fire place and I hope the shabby chic look is coming together.
So what is the next housey project your going to turn your hand at? Have you got anything planned? I'm going to try and paint the bathroom ceiling next weekend (family allowing).0 -
Hi GR
Good luck with the ceiling, and be careful. I have to say I hate painting things unless it's arty. I much preferred doing the kitchen than the fireplace!
We bought some beading today so just got to paint that the same colour as the fireplace and when it's on I'll post pics.
Not sure what to do next. Went to the library and got some knitting and crochet books so might get back into that. I've enjoyed knitting the hats, just got to send them off now.
Back at school next week and just before we broke up the teacher I do music for has said it's all got to change. She'll be leaving me English and RE to do. Now I'm ok with that, those being my other favourite subjects, and she said she'll still let me do it my own way but I will be following the lesson plan, but I'll still try and make it interesting and hopefully enjoyable for the children.
Well my amazon account says that my payment went in the bank on the 24th (Easter) but it's still not showing in my account. Will leave it a couple more days then see what's happening with it. It's only £14 odd but still. I've been rubbish with my money this month...so need all I can get!
What are you doing at college GR? I feel like I want to do something but don't know what. Finished a one year 'special needs course' last year but now I want something for pleasure. Keep toying with the idea of learning spanish but that's only so I can understand the words on Carlos Santana songsI love Santana. Went to see him about 4 years ago on the Supernatural Tour and it was fantastic! Got it piping in my earphones now.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=8JryQXilMj4 one of my favourites and the drum solo is brilliant!
Any of your favourites on 'youtube' GR?
So how's work been for you? I'm sure there must be a Bank Holiday coming up soon

Hi there Diz, glad the fireplace is coming together, can't wait to see the pictures. So many questions for me today. Now where do I start?
Amazon - takes absolutely ages to show up in your account, I tend to forget about it then check my balance online and think Oh where did that money come from? It will get there its just very slow.
College - I don't really know what I want to be when I grow up! Over recent years I've had a diploma in Leisure Gardening, Classroom Assistant Teaching, I'm a qualified drug and alcohol abuse counsellor and now I'm doing Hospitality Management - I really want to move abroad and have a karaoke bar! Also done GCSE Sociology. I've constantly got something on the go as I'm a person whose hungry for information. Sometimes I bite off more than I chew but I usually get there in the end. I'd love to do something with children with special needs but I'm not an emotionally strong person and know that I couldn't switch myself off from the work. Does that make sense to you?
Music - I'm a real rock chick - Meatloaf, Guns and Roses, Whitesnake, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Aerosmith and Bon Jovi. I also love Queen and Brian Adams. Saw Queen on their Maginc tour in Wembley 1986 (the year I did my O'Levels) and it was the most fantastic experience of my life. I love music and really wish I could play an instrument. If I could it would be the electric guitar. I'm dreaming again!
Work - Boss been off for nearly a fortnight and I miss his like mad. I've got very little work to do when he's not there and have just pottered around trying to keep myself busy. He's back in work today and I'm looking forward to having something to do. The bully is still around and yesterday everything she said and done grated on my nerves. I seem to be living on nervous energy at the moment and the slightest thing is setting me off. I'm waiting for that other job to be advertised, I don't really wantto leave my boss because he's a fabulous person who I respect a great deal, but he knows the problems we're having (it's not just me, its another girl as well) with the bully and he hasn't done anything about it. He keeps putting it down to her hormones..... So an oportunity has come up for me and I'm going to grab it (so long as its a permanent contract). It'll mean studying for a HNC in computing part-time and going back to work full-time (I currently don't start until 10am) but the money is a great improvement on my current salaryand I'm ready for a challenge. The enxt Bank Holiday is the beginning of May which is only a month away!
As for you, will you stop worrying about how badly your doing with money. The OD will right itself soon enough. Have you got a limit that you'd like to bring it down to in April? Or maybe you could save that amount every months an pay it off the OD when you have enough. You've done so well in the first 3 months of the year that there is no way your going to give up on me now girl. We are going to blitz that OD!
Catch you later x0 -
Cheers GR I'm just a bit fed up at the moment. Had a huge row with DD last night hence my being on here till the early hours to take my mind off it. Then couldn't sleep and read Liz Smiths (nanna from the Royle Familys) autobiography all in one go. I'd just finished it at 8.15am when OH was coming home from work lol. Hence I got up at 2pm today....was a good read though, very interesting and sad as well.
Regarding work do we ever really know what we want to do? When I was younger I wanted to be a hairdresser, I used to buy hairdressing monthly but mum put me off saying I'd be standing on my feet all day with my hands in bleach:D What variety GR...aside from the bar in Spain...if you could what would you choose?
To be honest OH was off for Easter last week and a couple of times we bought the paper and went to a quiet pub and read, whilst we had a relax. It was lovely, I thought I'd be quite happy doing that a few times a week. I really would not work if I didn't have to. Who would? lol
Do you know GR we've got such similar tastes haven't we? Rock music, same kind of books, similar work at times etc.
I do understand what you mean though about being emotionally strong. Believe me I'm the worst. I worked for NCH for 6 years as a project worker with young carers and I would drive home many a night in tears. We did have a good strong team though were we could offload but it didn't stop you worrying and caring about those children. You have to balance that with all the positives and the difference you were making in their lives.
Maybe GR you could do something voluntary just to see how you feel about it, you never know it could be the job you've been waiting for.
Your boss should really do something about the girl who's shall we say 'not very nice' It makes you wonder how they get away with it. Is there anyone else in authority you could speak to, why should you leave because of her?
Anyway hun I'll catch you later, weather rotten here.

Weather really nice here today but I've got the blues. I want to run away with boyfriend for a week - somewhere hot, but I can't see that happening in the foreseeable future.
Do you know if I could be anything in the world I wouldn't know what to choose. I used to want to work the beaches abroadselling fanta, lemon and cola to tourists. I could wear flip flops all day, there would be no stress and the weather would be hot.
I would also have liked to be a tour guide. I could just see myself sitting in the front of a bus with a microphone!
As for the girl in work I'm beginning to think everyone is afraid of her. The trouble we've got is that if we make a formal complaint and get personnel involved out lives would be hell whilst it's being investigated. I feel as if I can't win. I do quite a lot of training and I find myself booking lots more training recently so I can be off site.
What was Nanna's book like? I read Ricky Tomlinsons autobiography and I really enjoyed it, he's had quite a chequered past. Am currently reading Going Dutch by Katie Fforde. It's easy to read and quite light. Just what I need at the moment. I've nearly finished it and have listed it on Amazon ready to sell. I keep thinking I'm the next Richard Branson!
Hope you and DD make up, it's awful when you row with the kids isn't it? They carry on as normal and your all upset!0 -

Oh guess what Im a rock fan too. I used to spend so much time listening to GNR and not studying. Never got to see Queen would have loved to.:j0 -
How can one girl be allowed to make peoples lifes so uncomfortable?
Keep that image of you and boyfriend on the beach...it's something to aim for and get you through these times, and when it does happen, it'll have been worth the wait.
Lol GR the tour guide seems good, like the Susan Harper Character in 'My Family. I love some of her outfits. I must admit I quite like the idea of working reception in a really posh hotel like 'The Savoy' and I could you use my posh voice and wear Jimmy Choos? (:rotfl: I would never spend that amount on shoes)
Nannas book was very good. Lots of little pics drawn in that she'd done herself, she went to art school before drama classes, very sad in some parts (won't tell you in case you read it) but you just felt like you wanted to hug her. She said the best thing in her career was working on 'The Royle Family'
I want to read Thora Hird's autobiography, I bet there's some laughter in that, she always struck me as having a great sense of humour.
DD is in now. It's calm at least if nothing else.
Think I'm going to put some stuff on ebay and start off at 99p. As long as I make something I'll be happy. Going to set myself a little ebay challenge, to make at least £20 this month net on ebay, aim low anything else is a bonus
So we're three Rock Chicks...well great minds think alike (although 'they' do say 'And fools' seldom differ') don't like that bit though!
Have a lovely relaxing evening...I'm off to list on ebay, in a bit anyway.

Good luck with the e-bay Diz, hope you make loads. I've not sold a sausage today. I get really disheartened when nothing goes.0
