    Hello there GR...
    well not much exciting happening.
I really want something tasty to eat. Last night I went to asda and tesco, spent £65 in all, and bought some ingredients to make a really tasty risotto...but I can't be bothered now and just keep grazing on toast, crisp and salad bits.
DD out...again, she has a far better social life than me, so, once again I'll be up until goodness knows when.
I love cats too GR, we have one that keeps coming in the garden and I dread letting Tillie out in case she grabs the cat...I think a cat in the house just seems to calm the atmosphere, probably because they're so laid back lol.
Hope you're okay and having a relaxing break.

I don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.

Well I really couldn't be bothered to cook tea tonight, we all had a big lunch (at mums) so we've had some Ham salad sandwiches for our tea. DS has just come in and stuck a chicken curry in the micro, he's now running the bath and decided to sleep up his friends so it'll be me and DD tonight.

I'm so thirsty tonight I don't know whats the matter with me, I may have to have a can of lager to quench the thirst. Kids have drunk all the pop and juice so there's nothing else here I can have. Don't really like lager but it'll have to do.

Oh GR enjoy those nights together. My DD isn't in long enough these days to have a chat with sometimes...
Wish I could join you in a drink...sounds good. Think I'll have ago at that risotto after all. There is a bit of wine in the recipe lol.

That sounds good. Its actually making me hungry but I really don't feel like cooking anything. Ive decided to go with an apple., it's not ideal but it doesn't involve me getting off the settee. How lazy is that?

Hope you've been eating more than just apples GR!!
Not much doing I'm afraid. OH and I went to Botany Bay on Easter Monday, nothing really took my fancy, bought two candles and a plant. Still it was nice to just get out for the day.
Today I've had a tidy up of the back garden, and not much else to be honest.
I've been thinking about painting the fireplace surround again and the back of the fire too. Just need to get motivated.
Hope everyone is okay and keeping well.

The apples are snacks for in between my sixteen meals per day lol.

My garden really needs me to get out there. It's so big its way beyond my control. Every year I try to do another little bit but I'll be there forever. I keep the lawn cut and the borders weeded but that only accounts for half the garden. The other half which is on a lower level than the house is a jungle. Want a new drive this year, I've had a quote for it - £1000 which is really reasonable but there's always something more important that needs doing.

Oh well moan over, I'm going to catch up on a few threads then its off to work for me.

    Luv GR x

    Hello everyone...:hello:
It's still a bit chilly out there isn't it GR to be doing too much work in the garden, it sounds huge too. Could you maybe flag some of it, at least that would keep you from having to mow and weed all of it?
I think I'm slacking a bit on doing my diary entries. Yesterday on the knitters thread there was a link to the Paul O'Grady show about knitting hats for newborn babies for 'Save the Children Charity' so last night I had a go at one, it wasn't that brilliant so today I looked for another pattern for a really easy one to knit and there was one on the link to the charity...just didn't see it, probably didn't have my glasses on lol
Anyway have done another tonight and it's so lovely, a lilac one. So I've started a red one as well. I'm really pleased I didn't give up.
I'm going to get some paint tomorrow and finally do my fireplace. I might get some tiles too and put those on the back. Well the idea is there anyway.
Hope everyone is well and keeping warm.

You don't stop do you? Last half term it was the kitchen and now the fireplace. Hope your going to post some picture of that too!

It's tipping down in Wales today and its the type of day you wish you could stay in.

Well done on the hats Diz, I'm sure they are going to be well appreciated and well used. Its sad really that in the same world that we live in there are so many people who are so badly off. And we moan.

Right off to work now. Have a good day and don't do too much you don't wan to tire yourself out for the weekend.

Thought I'd catch up with my diary and say 'Hello'
Well I'm on my 4th baby hat now. 2 red, 1 lilac and this one's blue. I'm really pleased with them but I have to say my fingers have been aching a little bit, they always did when I knitted before, many moons ago.
So, I've finished the fireplace, I'm just going to add a thin piece of beading were the top of the fireplace meets the wall just to finish it off and then I'll post before and after pics. It's not brilliant but it looks better than it did. I've painted the back of the fire in grey, the fireplace in eggshell cream, which we already had and the enamel parts of the fire in a bronze. OH has painted the hearth wall blue. It sounds a mis match of colours but I think blue and cream go well together and the rest of the walls are a creamy kind of colour.
The whole room needs a complete revamp but I want an oak floor or similar but we really need a new fireplace so we'd have to have them done together and that would be mega money but the carpet is a patterned wilton which I loved years ago, when we bought it but now I 'hate' it with a passion lol
Phew...deep breath. Not much else happening really...been to asda a couple of times and better update my OD sig. Kept wondering why it had got high so soon then I remembered the £140 for my glasses
Ah well, what can you do??
Hope everyone is well and happy. We've all been quite busy lately in our homes haven't we? It must be because Summer is in the air :D
