Yes, I know what you mean andreaandrea - they might neg you out of spite. But if this is the case, then you can contact e bay - afterall, they can only neg you with good reason. I had two unpaid items recently and opened cases after 8 days. Both subsequently paid, so I await their fb with some apprehension....I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off
1% over payments on cc 3.5/100 (March 2014)0 -
Why prolong the agony though? (joking, I think!:)) Why wait 8 days to be paid?
eBay has automated the after-sales messages to buyers, so if they haven't paid they get a payment reminder after 2-3 days.
And why not also send a (warning) message to a non-payer on day 3 saying;
Just to remind you that if payment has not been received 4 days after the sale, a non-payment case opens automatically, giving you another 4 days to pay.
Set your account to 'automatic unpaid item assistant' and cross your fingers.0 -
Just had a buyer get 3 strikes from me. Purchased 3 items......no payment. Automatic reminders go out.........nothing.........Case opened message.........nothing....8th day. I close and get my fee's back and block the bidder. 3 strikers for him.
Now I get a narky message from him (although I have selected to refuse block bidders contacting me!) having a go saying he was away and would have paid on his return. He has over 600 feedback, so surely knows how ebay works.
1 message is all it would have taken, yet i'm the bad guy0 -
A word of warning... don't send repeated invoices for the same item. I sent two invoices and a polite note (all within the first 4 days) and the buyer threatened to report me to ebay for hounding him for payment. I received no communication from the buyer that payment would be delayed. The buyer is a seller himself (as he is very keen to point out) and definitely knows how ebay works.
Also, recently, I had another buyer who took 8 days to pay - I opened the non-paying bidder process after 4 days. Again, absolutely no comms.
It seems like a lot of buyers on ebay don't have any respect for sellers. Surely if you win an item, you pay PROMPTLY. And if you can't or don't want to pay then at least contact the seller to let them know if/when payment will be forthcoming.
Henceforth, I'm not selling anything on ebay.*removed by forumteam - please do not advertise in signatures*0 -

A lot of sellers don't have any respect for the buyers! Last year, I put a snipe on an item from a Chinese seller. It finished late on Thursday night and I tried to pay on the Friday morning. I then found my paypal account had been restricted because, according to paypal, an unauthorised attempt had been made to access my account. I started revalidating my paypal and told the seller I would pay as soon as it was sorted out. On the Monday (day 4) I got an NPB.
On the Tuesday, my paypal was reactivated (the weekend slowed things down a bit!) and I tried to pay, only to find that the item had been cancelled and the seller was no longer registered! So I was stuck with an NPB strike and no way of paying it! All for something that cost 99p with free postage!0 -

You could not have got an NPB strike on day 4. Once seller was suspended yoru NPB case would have been closed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
